The beer at the Rail House, I thought was delicious. If your into watered down beers like Budweiser, Miller, Blue Ribbon, Bush, Coolers, or Old Style. Then the Rail House beer, is not for you. My favorite beer from their selection was the "Oatmeal Stout," it tastes sort of like an imperial stout. If your a beer connoisseur I suggest, you check this place out.

The many cars in the parking lot tells you the locals and not just out of towners love this place. Great bar and by far best local brews in the area. Varied menu,Friday fish fry brings them in. Personally any sandwich on the menu and any microbrew work for me. You can sit in the bar and go pizza & beer. Or do some seafood in the dinning areas.

They don't get it. When we ask for delivery, we expect what the menu states. I called and complained after the first "wrong" delivery and the manager stated that he would talk to the night person. Tonight we ordered again and we were told 30 to 45 minutes for pick up. I asked him which one. He said, "30 to 45 minutes." I told him I didn't want to sit out in the car for 15 minutes or have it cold. We cancelled. They need to get their act together at night or they will lose business.

Golden Rush beer is fantastic...I loved it...some of them had an instresting tang to them but all in all very good. The pilsner was a let down.
The food however was extrodinary.

After reading some other reviews, I was not expecting much, but I was pleasantly suprised. This was to be the last place I would hit for the night. I found a motel less then three hundred yards away. I was there for several hours and tried each brew at least once. I thought the IPA was a real suprise. Hoppy and well balanced, it was a standout at this place. In fact, the only beer that was a letdown was the Christmas ale. It was sour and thin and served with a slice of orange, not good. Food was good, and the waitresses were hot and friendly (always a good combination). Best of all, as mentioned earlier, you do get a free beer when the train goes by (too funny).

A definite improvement over the last time. Beers are improving thanks to a new brewer (although a patron remarked about having to introduce him to the concept of "dry-hopping"....). Definitely a place with some hope, if that road construction doesn't kill off their business too much in the meantime.

This was my third trip here, and I must say that it keeps improving. A ways to go, sure, but it's getting there. It's solid if not spectacular, but never a disappointment. As usual the Gold Rush pale ale was the best, then the red. The sample board had seven beers, all of which were good. Rail House may not be a place you drive a hundred miles to go to, but if you're passing through, DO!

Had a time getting to the place as the main street was torn up and closed. A large place with a kind of country flavor. Lots of old farmer types. Everyone was eating "all you can eat" fried chicken with dressing. When in Rome...I had it and it was excellent. The beers were good to OK. I think that we were the only ones in the large place to have beer, of any type.

If you are into visiting all the brewpubs in America before you die, then you must visit this one. Which is to say, beer afficiondos might have a difficult time with this place; however, I found the food to be quite good. Best part about this place is the free beer that you get when the train goes by. You have to have purchased at least one before you get the free one.

This was one strange place for beer. The sampler had eight beers. There were two fruit induced beers (peach & cherry), a Steam Beer that was very hoppy, a Stout (so called) that was really a Schwarzbier (black lager), a so-so scottish, a Pale Ale, and a Pilsner.
The Schwarzbier was actually pretty good, and eventhough it wasnt' to style, I liked the hoppy steam beer. The Pilsner puzzled me. It strangely tasted more like a weak Belgium Triple, with the Saaz hops and a slightly malty sweet taste. Everything else was so-so to weak.

Hey I didn't think it was bad! I thought the pale ale was best and a good beer overall, followed by the stout. I thought the Scottish ale was ok, but the red ale needed put out our misery. The fish special on Friday was great, and the blonde waitress with pigtails was worth future trips all by herself.

Without a doubt the very worst beer drinking experience of my entire life. When we got there the locals and the brewers were sitting around drinking macros. That should have warned us off, but no, we sampled them all and spent the rest of the night wretched with the aftertastes.

Decent selection, including cream ale, pumpkin, and blueberry ale, but none were worth a detour. Food was much better--this is a restaurant first, as evidenced by the redneck wedding party that drove the noise levels to intolerable for a half-hour before claiming the banquet hall. If you're there, hey, why not? But don't go out of your way, even if you're a railfan--it's beside the tracks, but good luck finding a train.

The female barkeeps spend more time playing kissy face with their boyfriends than serving the mediocre beer.

Easily the worst beer I have ever tasted in over 150 brewpubs. I tried six beers, including one golden ale described as "full bodied"?!?!?! Every off-flavor imaginable was available here. The place was empty, what a surprise. You know, if you're going to open a brewpub, hire a brewer with a decent palate, if not open a bar and serve Budweiser!I regret that I did not try the Leinies Honey Weiss, at least I would have been able to drink a whole sampler. I finished with a "I'm running short on time", and left one- half to three-quarters of my beers, scratching my head, and thinking I should have bought two boxes of band-aids for the 4.95 I spent there and chewed on them as I drove away. Don't waste your time!

Nice place out in the boondocks of the Wisconsin Northwoods. Our server was brand new and didn't know alot about the beer but tried and listened. Out of the way but worth the stop!!!!
