I have been going to the Saucer for many years and it does a good business and can get very crowded especially on trivia night. The food is ok. Eat elsewhere before you come here. The beer selection is above average and they do a good job of keeping seasonal beers in stock. The service is hit or miss. The girls do wear schoolgirl outfits but can be slow and forgetful from time to time. Sometimes it is if they dont even want to be there. A little unfriendly too. It is not a very big place and the crowds can get large. The seating is nice. Lots of couches and the decor is nice. Parking is plentiful. It is easy to find and located near the busy downtown nightlife section so it is a good place to start out at or close down. They have a pint night keep the glass deal that is nice. I have picked up some cool pint glasses from there. The crowd is cool and friendly. I recommend the saucer but there are lots of other great places near there too. If you visit Nashville it is worth a stop and if the service sucks let your tip reflect it and hit up one of the other places near by.

My wife and I went out of our way to visit this Saucer and were very disappointed. Actually had to pay a cover to get in (there was no band). The place was packed so I guess the cover was an attempt to control crowding. We seated ourselves and waited. And waited. Finally flagged a waitress who said she would send our waitress over. We waited some more. And waited. We went back up front to get our cover back and leave. The manager Brandwyd Johnson overhear us and insisted we stay. She refunded our cover, bought our first round of drinks and even offered appetizers (we weren't hungry). All in all, Brandwyd evened out the poor service with great service so we left happy. One final note is that everyplace we visited in Nashville was non-smoking except the Saucer. Would be nice if they joined the rest.

Went there last night and had the worst service for the second time in row. Waitress could of cared less we were there. Kept sitting at the table next to us and talking to a guy. Went quite awhile with no more bread for the large amount of spinach dip we had. But she never noticed because she was busy sitting at the table next to us. Couldnt get an ashtray. We had to ask for everything, and had to keep grabbing her everytime she walked by. Brought the food out and for four people she brought out one set of silverware, had to chase her down again.Friend of mine got a beer with a chip in the glass, told her and said "I will be sure to tell the manager to throw that one away," never offered to get her another beer in a new glass. There was four of us and she messed up everyones checks so we all paid for stuff we didnt have. You guys have ok food, great beer, the worst service everytime we go.

The Saucer is a place you need to check out if you are serious about your beer. Yes, it can get busy, as most really good bars do, but it's still worth the effort. -The Beer Deity

good thing the saucer doesn't have new castle. does anyone know what that stuff really is? i use to love it like everyone else, then i found out where is comes from. newcastle is a town in the uk that brews about 5-6 different beers. "newcastle" beer is taken from, literally, the bottom of the barrels of the beer vast of those different brewerys and shipped the the united states and sold for $5 a bottle and we buy it like its going out of style. so GOOD FOR THE SAUCER FOR NOT SELLING IT.

80+ taps but extremely busy. Waitresses wore school girl plaid skirts so it was kind of interesting trying to hold a conversation with any male in that establishment. Beer was a little pricey. Would like to go again during a non peak hour.

Great spot to try a wide variety of beer. They do a nice job of rotating in new and seasonal beers to their staple selection of quality brew. However, if you want to keep a drink in front of you the majority of your visit, make you mind up and order early, because the service is usually at a snails pace. The food is average but, like several other Saucers I’ve made it too, the décor and atmosphere is inviting and pleasant.

Beer selection was quite impressive. Choose your own sampler was a good idea. Would need to visit often to try them all.

Ok guys, you've got to go to this place. The staff is awesome! Perhaps a bit slow, but.....ouch! It would take a year to try all of the beers. An amazing selection. The wharehouse atmosphere is way too loud and the food was only ok, but go for the beer and babes.

Well, it's obvious that the guy from Colorado doesn't know crap about good beer. I checked out his beloved Falling Rock only to find that not only do they have their own crap on tap (Shiner Bock ain't nothing to brag about), but they don't have many of the basic beer staples that the Saucer has. I mean, come on, what kind of taproom doesn't have a SINGLE offering from Young's or Rogue. Besides that, where's the Newcastle? Where's the Mackeson's? Newcastle Brown Ale is a staple beer in Nashville, and you can get it in almost any restaurant here, but you can't get it in this awesome CO taproom. It sounds to me like someone was just a wanker when he came down to Nashville, and he was treated with the respect he deserved. Stay in CO and drink your Budweiser, and leave the real beer drinking to the Nashvillians.

Absolute best place for beer in Nashville. Great selection and atmosphere. The waitress we had was great, not sure what the earlier complaints were about.

Beer selection is clutch. Trivia Night on Tuesdays is awesome. Food is not the best, so just drink a few more beers to make up for it!

Got to love the beer selection, and the catholic-school-girl-waitresses. Food is much better with their new menu, but who goes there to eat?!?! Best beer selection in Nashville. Both Draft & Bottles.

I guess the beer selection is ok for Nashville, but they sure had a lot of crap on tap(bud, miller, coors ad nauseum). They have a long way to go to catch up with the Falling Rock in Denver or any of the taphouses I have visited in California and Oregon.

Stayed at the Union Station Hotel and this was our first stop. Fantastic selection of beer, food was very basic but fine, and they have a great setup, i.e. nice patio with couches or picnic tables. The wait staff was sometimes great and sometimes totally ignored us but would definately go back.

Maybe the beer and the bartenders are great, but the service I got was terrible. If you ever go to the Flying Saucer just for food, make sure you don't get the fat guy server with long black hair. He's a total bastard.
