This place was a blast! I had the Amendment extra pale ale which has a slightly sweet maltiness up front with a crisp hop finish. I also had the St. Patricks Irish on nitrogen. Very malty, smooth, and creamy due to the nitro. Lightly hopped. Highly drinkable. Exceptional ales.

I am form Marland and visited San Francisco for a business trip. I visited the brew pub and was very pleased with all aspects of the establishment. Saw the reviews on this site and planned a trip there. I even purchased a T-shirt for a friend.

Brewery is right down the street from SBC Park- so it's a great place to hit after the game. Has outside seating, with a walk up bar- same as the upstairs- so you aren't going to get any service unless you sit down to eat. They only had 4 beers on draft- but they do serve a seasonal Watermelon Wheat which is fantastic- the remaining beers are about average. Great atmosphere - worth a trip.

We stopped here before going the ball game, and we were happy we did. They have a big selection of beers and their IPA and Watermelon Wheat were really good. If you're in the neighborhood for a game, go here. The staff was friendly too.

We are so glad we took the time to stop here before leaving S.F. This place was highly recommended to us. Near SBC Ball Park - just wish there had been a game on Sunday - that would have made a perfect afternoon. Magnolia Pub, 21st Amendment, Scoma's for dinner. What could be better! This place serves probably the best sampler we have ever had. 7 beers in highball glasses. Wow! We tried them all, but absolutely loved the Pippo's Porter. That may be the best porter I've ever had. They were waiting on their newest batch of Watermelon Wheat. Not particularly being that fond of Wheat beers, we had heard about this one, so stayed the extra 1/2 hour till it was ready! Glad we did. This is something else! Although I prefer the Porter, I'm glad we tried this. Gives you a different view of "Wheat" beers! This, also, is one of the friendliest breweries we have been to. A delightful afternoon.

Great Stout and Red. Happy Hour deals are worth an afternoon of hanging out. Atmosphere terrific. A little out of the way, but definitely worth the trip.

Amendment Pale Ale was good, as was North Shore Red. The rest were a bit too strong for my taste. Very friendly and helpful staff serving top quality food.

Food we ate was regular pub fare. Hearty fries were awesome! Were there just before a Giants game so it was really crowded but they handled it a well as can be expected. The barmaid upstairs seemed indifferent, but the beers were very good, especially the Amendment Pale. Visited three brewpubs that day. I'd visit here again.

Was in the City to meet up with a cyber-home brew buddy. We met at the 21st Amendment. First time here for the wife & myself. They had 5 beers available, Pale Ale, Oyster Stout, Hefeweisen, ESB and a Strong Blonde. We sampled the beers and all were tasty. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the fact they didn't have the watermelon Wheat or IPA on tap. But what was served was very nice. The Pale Ale was my pick. The Oyster Stout a close second.

The best beer in the city. Watermelon Wheat to die for! Great news that they will sell beer at Pacbell Park! Eddie the chef is wonderful. Try the Pork Chops! Sean is a excellent brewmaster. And Nice is a gracious host. Fantastic vintage beer advertising adorns the place! A must place before, during and after the game. I give it 5 STARS!!

Their biggest positive feature as a brewpub, is the food. But on the beer, notice how many reviewers here state that their *selection* is great, awesome. That is right. Meaning, they try to do too many different things. Jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Still, a dang a good pale ale, and the food, makes it the best place to go before Giants game (since it is within stumbling distance of PacBell park). Be careful crossing the light rail track, though. :)

Great atmosphere for the baseball lover during the season. But a good place year-round. The beers are done very well. Especially the holiday selctions. I prefer the North Star Red! Food is upscale for a brew pub, but priced reasonably and very tasty. Bar staff is super nice. Check it out. Definitely worth your while!

Hands down, my favorite beer in the Bay Area! You'll think you're in Portland's best brewpubs. For lighter beer fans (relative to other craft beers) the Amendment Pale Ale beats ANYTHING like it. I.P.A. lovers rave about the one here, too. Food is shockingly great for a brewpub. It's four-star restarant quality at neighborhood joint prices! Selection marked "good" only 'cause all those Giants fans sometimes empty the tanks of my favorites during home-stands.

I have been prowling for superior IPAs since long before the brewpub thing got trendy, and the one at this place is among the best I've had, period. Don't go here for service--that's not what they do. And the food is adequate for noshing with tasty brews. I used to work down the street, and based on numerous visits, I can say that the atmosphere is laid back yet fun and lively, and that you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place locally to hang out before a Giants game or after a long week at work.

The first time I went they were having a private party and we couldn't get in. That really pissed me off, but we went back a couple of days later and I enjoyed the place. The beers were very tasty and the food was both plentiful and delicious. They need to hire a little more help for the busy times...like before games.

21st Amendment is a bustling brewpub near 3COM park downtown. They have a good restaurant and horseshoe bar all in one big open space. There's also a cozy bar upstairs. The crowd is friendly, intelligent urban locals. The food was very good. The beer was good. Indeed, the Double Trouble IPA was very good. It's on a higher level than the others. I'd say look for the brewmaster's specials and see if he can keep it going.

I've been to brewpubs around the country. This was one of the best that I have found. These guys are serious about their beers. Beer clearly comes first at this establishment. I think tried all of the beers and they were all excellent. And, our waiter knew his beers! I particularly liked the Double Trouble IPA.

Visited before a Giants day game that started at 12:05 PM. The sign on the door said that they open at 11 on the days that day games are played, but the doors weren't unlocked until about twenty minutes after that. I only had time for two beers and tried the Watermelon Wheat and the Anniversary Amber. The wheat was interesting, served with a wedge of watermelon. The amber was a big (7.8%), well balanced beer. This place is worth stopping by when going to a Giants game.
