A very fine Brewpub. If you find yourself in downtown SF and you want a good beer, skip the visit to Thirsty Bear and take the 5 minute cab ride to 21st Amendment. The porter was excellent! All their beers were clean, without obvious flaws. The hops were typically American and used liberally. The barleywine was very good but could use a bit more age to smooth the rough edges. The food was also excellent. I ate there twice in the four days I was in SF. Both times the food was great, the service was fast, the staff were polite and knowledgable, and the atmosphere was pleasant. James, one of their bar tenders, is real gem. I will definately go back next time I get the chance.

This place is OK. I went here after a Giants game and had the IPA. We also had food. Our four beers and appetizer was all free, it was on the anniversery of the place and 1 pint was supposed to be free, when they annonced that we left and did good. we did grab the last free beers at the bar , then whoooosh!

Only had the Double Trouble IPA here and they didn't lie when they said it was hoppy. And it packed a punch! I liked it a lot. Got there around 10 pm and the kitchen was closed, so we couldn't sample the food. Bartender was efficient, but not particularly friendly to us out-of-towners.

When I visited in may, I was less impressed than the other reviews would have predicted. Average beers, seems mainly here to semi-please Giants fans

Very good beers. The IPA is ultra hoppy, but still drinkable. The Stout was excellent. Food was good, and the service was great. The bartender gave me directions for other brewpubs to check out while I was in town!

Sorry for the below review, I confused it with 20 Tank brewery. I did like the beer here, parking was a tough one. Great atmosphere. Ignore or remove my closed comment.

excellent choice very good taps, nice wine selection for non-beer drinking friends(are their any?) only complaint, they made us wait to get in as it wasn't 4:30pm. Wonderful art work.

Good food, great location during baseball season near Pac Bell Park. Went after they first opened and the selection was small, but well-crafted. Went later in fall and they had great seasonal beer. Food is a bit pricey, but this is more of an upscale cafe/restaurant that also has a fine brewery and just a brewpub.

This place rocks! We found it by accident while walking from the Montgomery BART station to Pac Bell Park. The beers are incredible. The Hefe is a true Bavarian style with all the wonderful esther that go along for the ride. The North Star Red is a well balanced, nicely hopped Pale. The US IPA is a fantastic American IPA (hoppy, hoppy, hoppy!). The Oyster Stout (yes, with oyster shells in the boil) must be tried to be believed. If you are serious about good beer you MUST get to this place the next time you are in the Bay Area. It's a few blocks from the BART station but well worth the walk. And if you're going to a game at Pac Bell it's even closer. Check out their website for more info.
