Stout Brothers has been a huge part of my wife's and my life since opening. We have always felt as part of the family. We cannot say enough about how we have loved to trip downtown to our favorite establishment in Milwaukee. We will always remember the friendships we have made at Stout Brothers. The employees have ALL made us feel like close friends. God bless and good luck to all; Billy, Al, Dan, Mikes, Chuck, Eileen, Greg, and the unsung friends at Stout Brothers. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!!!

The IPA and stout were pretty good, but our favorite beer was one of their guest taps...a whiskey stout from Wisconsin Brewing. My wife had the cranberry porter which she described as "interesting". I had a taste and it wasn't bad. The food is good, standard, pub fare. Worth the occasional visit, the beer is solid but not inspiring.

The cream ale is the one beer worth trying here. The others taste watered down. This place was almost empty @ 9:00 on a Saturday night. Try the other options on Water Street.

I've only been here once, but I found everything to be quite enjoyable. The food - as with most brewpubs - was good yet a little pricey. The atmosphere was pretty casual and the service was great. More importantly, IMHO, the beer was pretty good. I was able to try the Celtic Cross Stout and the Weisse. Both were good - better than your average micro yet not GABF winners. This is a nice place to visit if you're looking for something good & a little different.

The beers at the lighter end of the spectrum were pretty average at best, but all certainly drinkable. The red ale, which was being offered as a seasonable, was excellent. The brown ale was above average and the stout, while a little thin, had good flavor. The food was average at best, but still a pleasant place to dine and have a beer.

Only tried the IPA. It was good, but I didn't really consider it to be a true IPA. It was much too heavy. Not as light and refreshing as I'd hoped for. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. We'll go back again. I'd like to go there on a Monday night for the All the beer you can drink for 10 bucks deal.

The beer here was terrible. We ordered the sampler. Every beer had the same strange astringency/sourness to it. I don't know if it was a house infection or dirty beer lines. The only drinkable beer was the Cream Ale which had a nice full malty/corny cream ale character and less of the off flavor. We left without even finishing our beers. That's a first.

This is a nice place with decent beer, the IPA is not bad, the food is good. It's just that nothing here is great. We stop in every once in a while for a change of pace. As with many of the Milwaukee brewpubs, Stout Brothers has much unfufilled potential.

I was very pleased with my trip to the pub. I thought the Pilsner was great. I didn't have a chance to drink any others on this trip, but I was driving. The people are very friendly here and that's the next biggest thing after making good beer and food. I will surely be going back to fill my mug.

The best brewpub we found in Milwaukee, although that's not saying a whole lot. No one seems interested in experimenting with their pale ales or wheats or maybe trying a Belgian style. We returned to this place a second time and got bored and left.

Very good... Have tried many of the brews and haven't been dissappointed yet. The food is excellent, the usual pub fare for the most part but very well done. Also have slightly higher priced dinner choices... It my be a a little too early for beer for some, but if you get a chance to ever sample the Sunday brunch, do it! It' the best I've ever had!

They had 7 of their own beers and 1 guest beer when I was there. Half were your typical "light" style beers, but there were also some really good beers. The brown ale was good, but the Underground IPA, and Celtic Cross Stout were excellent! The food was also very good. After visiting Water Street, and Milwaukee Ale House, Stout Bros has the best beer of any brewpub in Milwaukee(IMHO).

This is one of the best newly opened brewpubs I have been to. Was only open 2 months when I stopped in and I loved both the stout and the pilsner. IPA needed more hops, but the head brewer said the same thing. This place should be a real good one...
