Went there for my Birthday dinner, really enjoyed the place, especially after an hour n half drive. The Fireengine Red by far was my favorite. The Prairie Fire wheat was my second favorite. Food wise, the pizza was pretty good, Walleye best I have had in awhile. My brother thought the Jambalya needed more spice. My wife liked the grilled chicken, but was disappointed because she wanted the Ale Battered cod, they served the last just as we ordered. The bonfire nachos was a great beginning. If I am passing through at the right time I will stop again.

Having the chance to be one of the first cooks and the very first dishwasher I had the chance to taste everything, my favorite would have to be the firehose pasta, and spicy breaded chicken sandwich.

Yes the service has gotten better since opening and so has the beer quality but there is a lack for having a very good beer to go back for unless you happen to just be in the area and want a decent craft brewed cold beer unlike the bottled selection on hand. The food taste and selection are still in need of improvements. but none the less a needed addition for Illinos brewpubs.

The atmosphere is great, fun place to go. Food is very good, service excellent on several visits. Nice place to take the kids, with on-site brewed root beer and cream soda, they can get refills for 25 cents which keeps them happy while I drink.

Nice, modern re-model of a fire station. Great food menu, beer ok. They carry many other brands beside their own. The pale was good, the wheat beer wasn't like any wheat beer I've ever had - not good. Still, overall this is a cool place to go.

The Firehouse has gotten better in the past two years in every category. They currently have a bock available (doppelbock, if you ask me) that is very good. The food on Tuesday, 5/14/02 was excellent.

The desserts and the atmosphere are the best things about the fire house unless you can't get enough chicken.(The menu is very heavy on chicken.) Their lite beer (yes, I admit it) was pretty good. The service makes the experience worth the drive.

Beautiful facility. We had nachos, which were pretty standard. Tried the Wheat, Pale Ale, Red Ale, and Light. The wheat was bland, no interesting flavors (needed the lemon). The Pale Ale was very floral and not as strong as most I've tried. My wife liked the Red Ale but thought the Light was insipid (duh). Good example of the "Restaurant that brews its own standard beer selection" model, complete with the cute beer names. That as opposed to the "Guys who like to brew beer and also serve some food" model.

They had an excellent selection of beer on tap, the pale ale and stout were very good. The brewmaster is from Goose Island. Food was excellent, try the mile high meatloaf, and service was good. Easy to get to off of Interstate 80 at Route 47.
