I guess my opinion of "Typical Biersch" is a little higher than those of my fellow reviewers. Found the beer overall does not match the excellence of my local GBs, but the Winterbock and Blonde Bock were good enough for a return trip during my four days in Atlanta. For an interesting crawl (and more impressive beer selection), go 1/2 block up the street to Vortex, and/or just around the corner to McCray's on 6th.

Bad beer, ok food, boring establishment, uninterested help. Typical Biersch. Go across the street to the Vortex or head up to 5 Seasons for a good time.

This is franchise-brew pub to the nth degree. OK, but nothing I would call outstanding or exotic. Dined there on a night where there few patrons, but the staff seemed disinterested, as we were there late (9-10 pm). Ironically, I had met some staff members at a "trendy" bar the night before, and they really recommended their place as "good beer, good food." Um, I've had better food for the price, and a lot better beer. Overall, OK.

Hving spent 3 year in Anchorage, where nearly every resturant has 5-10 house brews, I had to check out Gordon Biersch, the only on-premise brew rest. in midtown. I tried the Golden and the Dunkleweiss and they were TERRIBLE!!! I mean AWFUL! Both were stale and had a vague taste of soap. I got sick off the food - a rare tuna salad with funky sliced tuna on the top. Spring for the Ahi if you're going to charge $16 for the tuna....

The food and beer excellent quality albeit a little pricey. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a good place to go for quality food and beer.

I find it intersting when I see beers this true to style. I've spent alot of time in Germany and I think the beers here are the closest you'll find this side of the Chech Republic.

I started going to Gordon Biersch in Palo Alto many years ago and have been there many times. When I think about the establishment, I think about the food first. I still remember the rosemary lamb sandwich with a garlic aioli that I had for lunch my first time there. It was one of the best sandwiches that I have ever had. The Atlanta location makes consistently good food. On my last visit, I had a turkey sandwich with apple and gorgonzola. It was great. The beer is good. The variety could be better. On most of my visits they only have three beers, a Golden, a Marzen and a Dunkles. They are fine examples of the styles. I wish that they would experiment with a weizenbock or rauch. This place is well worth trying.

Only four beers to choose from but what wonderful selections. The Dunkles was awesome! We shared a couple of pizzas which were worth a visit to this place in themselves. But come for the beer. You will not be disappointed.

If you have ever been to a Gordon Biersch elsewhere (probably on the West Coast), you know what to expect.
Gordon Biersch has very good food. I enjoy sitting on the patio on a Sunday having brunch. The service tends to be prompt and attentive.
The problem is the small beer selection--they generally have only three beers on tap: a Marzen, a Dunkles (which is consistently pronounced incorrectly by all employees), and a Golden. These never rotate, and are average quality at best. There is a rare seasonal thrown in the mix, but do not expect one.

Recently openned. Have visited a few times. The beer is fairly good--about the same as the other Gordon Biersch locations. The selection is still very limited (only three varieties). Of the three, the 'Marzen' is my preference. The service is hit or miss, but that may improve over time. The larger service problem is the lack of knowledge regarding their beers--I was informed 'we have a light, medium, and dark'. I enjoyed the food quite a bit. On weekends, you can enjoy a decent brunch menu, including some tasty Steak and Eggs Benedict. Hopefully, the service and selection will improve as they become established.
