Visited the bar side of the place. Beer was not very good and service was lacking from the bartender.

Stopped for the night in Socorro after visiting Bosque del Apache Natl. Wildlife Refuge and drove by this place. We had a very good dinner - the green chile burger was delicious - and enjoyed both the stout and the red ale. We would have liked to try the wood-fired pizzas too as they looked delicious, but we were definitely in the mood for good, homemade burgers.
Dinner was so good that we decided to come back the following morning for breakfast (sure beats fast food!). My husband loved his eggs benedict and my breakfast burrito was also pretty tasty. We split one of the homemade cinnamon rolls too, which was more food than we needed, but worth it for the flavor. Some good strong coffee ended the meal and sent us on our way to our next adventure.

Found out about Socorro Springs Brewing through a friend. My latest visit was March 3, 2007. We drove down for lunch. I had the apricot ale, great taste, had a second. Excelleng selection of brews as I have gone through them all. Lunch was excellent and the service fantastic. They have a very friendly crew there. Well worth the drive.

When you're hauling butt out of El Paso, TX or Las Cruces, NM the drive can be long to Albuquerque so a great rest stop in between is much appreciated and needed.
I pulled in to Socorro to hit a Taco Bell when I spotted this beer house located on the east side of the main street just down from the McDonald's. This place is worth the stop.
It has a good wine list which is key to my happiness if the mrs. is along. I tried the Pick Axe Pale Ale which is their most bitter beer. It had a good hoppy flavor but was not over the top and a little weak by my standards.
The food is Italian leaning and very good. And the service was attentive and very friendly. A great spot in the middle of nowhere. A hearty eight out of ten

We stopped in on the way to Carizoso to check out the Sierra Blanca home. I liked the pale ale very much and my calzone was excellent. A nice surprise.

Would prefer more of a beer selection. The night I was there, they were out of two beers on menu. Calzone was large, but I prefer more herbs and spices in the sauce.

Well worth the detour from I25. I tried an IPA, ESB, and Pale Ale. All were good, smooth, tasty beers. The IPA was great - I tried to get a growler to go, but when I got home I found that they gave me the ESB instead. The ESB was very good too, so it wasn't a problem. The calzones are outstanding.

I have been a regular patron of many Brew Pubs in New Mexico and Colorado over the past 5+ years, and in terms of decent beers, incredible food (especially for the price), and ambience (it's housed in a very nicely renovated adobe compound off the Socorro Plaza), Socorro Springs really can't be beat...

A bit out of the way, but the location apparently hasn't hurt it. Very good crowds both times I visited. Their IPA is nice and hoppy - not quite up to the standard of Coopersmiths' cask conditioned Punjabi, but very good. The food was a big draw for many of the folks. I recommend their personal pizzas, good variety and great taste. I'll pick up a growler of their IPA next time I'm around.

Beer is very good most of the time. In the past three visits I have not been disapointed. Their Calzones are the best, one is enough for two also have awsome homemade soup.
