Beer with a shitty attitude. If you are willing to deal with the terrible customer service...it's a good time.

The Saucer wins hands down for beer selection in the area. That's the main reason to go there. The food is OK, gets the job done. The wait staff is more efficient indoors than outside. But they are cute---and have at least a basic knowledge of their beers. If you want to try beers from all over the world, there is no competition in San Antonio for the Saucer.

I've been going for close to a year, mostly on Monday nights when most of the pints (save the Belgian's) are $2.50. Never disappointed. Ted gets some mentions, but Starr is pretty good at reading the crowd. I'll see y'all next Monday when I get back in town! Viva La Flying Saucer!!!!

Typical FS-about 75 taps and twice as many bottles. A good selection of Texas beers and pleased to find Real Ale Coffee Porter on tap. Drink this beer!!! Very busy for Wednesday keep-the-glass-night. I got a nice metal Bass mug-the beer was nothing to speak of but the mug was nice.

The Flying Saucer is an awesome establishment that is one of a kind. Where else can you get just about any kind of brew from around the world. the answer: The Flying Saucer. I have visited the Saucer in Raleigh, NC and San Antonio, TX and enjoy coming back every time. The waitresses are pretty hot too. Everytime I go...I always get excellent service with a smile...Hats off to the management team on a fine establishment. Me likey Flying Saucer

I'm rating this establishment on it's beer selection and the friendliness and knowledge of the manager (although I didn't know Ted's name or that he was the manager until I was leaving and he passed me his card). I did not eat here but did visit twice during my short stay. Once was early evening and I found several other folks were present who enjoyed the excellent selection of unusual and common brews. Conversation was easy. The second visit was after ten p.m. on a week night and the place was trying to rock. I'm a little old for rocking and wanted to chat with my friends so we picked a spot outdoors, bundled up, and enjoyed some excellend brew.

The service is truly lacking at this place. Many of the waitresses just don't have a clue. The food is only okay.

Ted Rowell does a better than average job in managing one of the finest drinking establishments in San Antonio. Sometimes the service is lacking, so just order another beer and chill. The bartenders during the week are totally awesome. They love to chat about the brews and if you are courteous you might even get a sample of the latest offering. The food is consistent and the jalepeno vinegarette dressing is without competition. If you are ever in the San Antoino area, drop in and say hello to Ted and the boys.

The Saucer has 70 plus beers on tap and works to bring in new drafts for each season. The bottled selection is well over 100. I go in often on the weekends for luch and a few brews with friends. We've never had a bad beer or meal. The bar sponsors a ring of honor for folks who have tried 200 different brews and I think this is the reason they're able to keep their stock fresh. The food is standard bar food and the wait staff (saucer chicks) are pleasant.

The Saucer is probably one of the nicer pubs in the area with a great selection and great food. The service ladies are a little on the trashy side but every place has to have its fault. With possibly a new waitstaff this place could definitely be a regular "hot spot".

A nice addition to the Flying Saucer chain. I wish they would open one in Milwaukee or Madison.

Went on a Friday night - very crowded. Had to wait for half an hour to get in, then had to beg to get a beer. Finally gave up and headed out to Hills and Dale's for a better atmosphere.

Best beer selection in town. (Maybe they didn't have Shiner 3 months ago, but they have it now...at least 2 different styles.) If you're not a true beer lover you'll likely not enjoy this place, but I love it. It is pretty expensive, but on Mondays they have 75 different pints available for $2.50 each.

This has got to be the hottest place in town right now. Lot's of beers, good food and great service from waitress that have studied their beer. They can all tell you something about most of the 200+ beers on the menu. The atmosphere is excellent and quite unique, as during the day this is a laid back very casual pub, but around 9:00pm it turns into a packed club with standing room only and a line out the door to get in. You've gotta spend some time on their patio late in the evening with friends sipping beer. Although it is not a sports bar, they do have a large screen TV that they show the major sports events on. I have to mention that all the waitresses here are very friendly, knowledgeable and are gorgeous. This place is definitely upscale and a place you would want to take a good friend from out of town. The beer club is great and is all computerized. They give you a card that you scan and it gives you all the beers you have partaken of and a list of their whole selection, a great way to keep track of your beer tour. This is definitely one of the best brewpubs in town.

My first intro to the Saucer came when I lived in Memphis and was quite excited to see one added in San Antonio. It is a great place to go, kick back and just enjoy the atmosphere. It does get a bit crowded on the weekends, but what doesn't. The beer selection is great...I have only had one request denied and that was for a Shiner...I guess the local beers aren't heavily stocked. In any case, go with the ambition to try everything...as one of their t-shirts says "Don't drink pee"!

Noisy and little atmosphere. The staff is largely from other Saucers and hence no San Antonio flavor to the place at all. There are much better in town. The computer selection system is a pain!
