This place was a very nice town bar. The staff is friendly and cordial. Mike the owner can be found working there often and always greats all who enter with a smile. The food is worth a visit just on it's own. Try the soups - they are all great. I highly recommend The Ultimate Stake Sandwich, or the Stockholm Burger. A number of the beers are brewed on site and are seasonal and I personally enjoy the Mike's Blend. I've tried a number of them and while I'm not a fan of all of them, I do enjoy quite a few.

All of their own-brewed beers had a 'sameness' to them; one style indistinguishable from the next. Reminds me of extract-based homebrew from an inexperienced beginner. The food was not bad, a slight cut above typical bar food. The place has an old 'towny bar' feel to it. But unless they can greatly improve their brewing process, I won’t go out of my way to go back anytime soon.

Their "beer" sucks, the staff sucks, this place sucks. I used to be a loyal patron mostly for the food. Today I stopped by to take pictures to post on Pubcrawler. They kicked me out because I was "making the patrons nervous" by taking pictures. Boo fucking hoo. How much expectation of privacy do they think they're entitled to in a place of public accomodation? It's not like I was taking pictures of them in a brothel or a drug market. If they don't want their faces shown, they don't have to look at the goddamn camera. Excuse me for trying to provide some publicity to a local neighborhood establishment even if they don't deserve it. I got off a couple of good shots but I'm not going to post them here because they obviously don't want the publicity. I used to be a regular. Not anymore. Screw you and your crappy beer.

I give a lot of credit to this place. I am glad to see that they are attempting to brew their own. I wish more places would follow their initiative. I must admit the beer is pretty bad. They have bought a commercial system that ferments and serves from the same vats. This would explain the metal taste. I hope that they will find a way to fix the problems. I wish them success, we need more brewpubs in the Chicago area.

Went there with a party of six on a Saturday night. They were only pouring half of the beers that they had listed. All four styles had some type of off taste. Their weiss beer, which wasn't listed as a dunkel, was a amber/brown color with almost none of the expected weiss aroma or taste. The honey brown & Belgian brown also had an off taste.

The brews made there are really not good at all. As the other reviewer pointed out, they do have other beers to choose from.

Great to have a Brew Pub in Geneva. The owner, Mike, is usually working and is very friendly visiting with all the guests. The food at this Brew Pub is worth the trip in itself. The beer has a unique taste to it. I prefer the Brown Ale and the Older But Weiser (Seasonal) to the other beers that have kind of a tart taste. Overall this is a good estabilshment and worth the visit.

Sort of a brewpub/beer bar combo. They had 3 of their own creations available on tap. I had their pilsner. It tasted like metal. It was so awful I couldn't finish it and dared not order another of their beers. Fortunately they had other workaday beer-bar stuff on tap like Guinness and Bass and the like. Food was pretty good... had a bowl of angel-hair pasta with blackened chicken in pesto sauce. Quite tasty. What I found particularly odd is that the place has a Scandanavian theme but did not have one single Scandanavian beer on tap or in bottles. Not even Carlsberg or Elephant.
