I have frequented the Irish Heather on several occasions and while the atmosphere is truly great and cozy and the small selection of beers fairly good choices, the food is non descript pub fare and the service is TERRIBLE. I am always waiting to get my glass refilled and then waiting for the refill to show up. Somebody should tell them they're losing sales when people sit for 20 minutes with an empty glass. The servers are not only slow, but couldn't seem to care less about customer needs and requests. I'm never going back and recommend you give it a pass for Deighton's Well around the corner.

We went to Vancouver for a Pubcrawl and hit the Irish Heather mid crawl and never left. Great, friendly staff. Patrick the front bartender was great and Ron in the Shebeen was awesome. Be sure to stop in here!

WORST PLACE IN VANCOUVER! NO atmosphere, RUDE service, LONG wait for food (35min+). Had a private room booked for a birthday party of 20 people. After four hours, some singing (no profanities) and over $1000 was spent the OWNER literally barged in and said "This is NOT A PUB. This is a restaurant. You can't be loud!". NO warning, NO diplomacy, NO decency. Needless to say we left right away with a sour taste in our mouths.

The Irish Heather is set in one of the coolest parts of Vancouver. It's tucked away on Carrall Street, with a very simple entrance and sign. But do not be discouraged. Inside, it boasts a fine beer menu and a great food menu. Their chef hales from other fine restaraunts, and the choice, like the price, is great. And although it may be quiet when you head in, don't be fooled, once it's dark out, this place is hopping...and be sure to sit in the very back room, with quirky benches and a neat view. The service is excellent, so they've got all their bases covered.
