Atmosphere was wonderful. TV clarity, spectacular. Service, excellent. Had draft beer so that was just what you would expect from a draft. Food was horrible, Hubby had oriental chicken, it had no flavor & the veggies tasted frozen, I had the bourbon salmon which the sauce tasted nothing like bourbon sauce,it was more like a caramelized brown sugar. the salmon was hard & tasteless. My veggies appeared to be covered in some sort of seasoning but they were also completely tasteless. The wings which some1 else suggested were a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale. Very little sauce & they are huge which makes them a little tougher in the legs & a little red in just a few of them against the bone. they were nice & crispy though. If you like really big wings then you would probably like these. We both loved the atmosphere & service was excellent they were packed but I was not happy at all with the food & I didn't eat mine. My sweet tea was excellent though. I wish them luck anyway

Service has been bad every time I have been here. The management does not care. The beer selection is large but there are not many really good beers available.

The Carolina Ale House is one of the only sports bars that appeals to both the sports fan and non-sports fan. The decor is nice and un-biased (all the colleges are represented) and the layout is very spacious (but every inch seems to be used on Fridays and Saturdays). This is television heaven, as it seems there is a TV every two feet around the entire building. The beer selection is stacked, the quality is good, and there is normally a kickin' special going on. The service at the bar is generally nice and normally speedy, depending on the crowd. The menu is of average size and interest ( I could recite it after my 3rd visit). The food quality is par; nothing outstanding, nothing horrible. Unless you like a lot of moving, this is not a great place to shoot a game of pool, for the tables are strategically placed directly in front of the bathrooms. Even though it can get a bit crowded, there is a good mix of males and females on the weekends, so if you are looking for the hook-up, this is one of the few sports bars around where you can watch a game and play one at the same time.
The Scotty Rating: 6.5 (out of 10)
