Island Park Ale House is under new ownership, reportedly now owned by Steve Beery of Mr. Beery's in Bethpage. No big changes to the place yet, but expect a big focus on live music going forward.

A great place to unwind with friends and have some good quality beer. You can play some darts and pool to boot.

Hey Dave,
Don't let one dumb drunk label the entire town, Island Park is a great place and the Island Park Ale House is a great place to hang in Island Park. Thanks for the music complements, it was our band Breakaway (www.Breakawaygroup.com) that was playing when that guy got ousted. They had a whole pig roast this weekend, very cool!!

A couple of us guys heard the buzz around town about the Ale House doing beer pong on Wednesday nights and live entertainment on Saturday's. Rumor has it that this is the place to hang now on those nights. This place was known to be a local dive. Believe me when I say we had our reserves about venturing over the bridge to check this place out. Well we couldn't ignore the buzz any more, so we decided to come out on Saturday. The moment we walked in we were greated by a friendly bartendar aka Hippi-chick, so the band called her! Which I might add is a hottie!! We were surprized to see how crowded this hole in the wall was. The rumors might be true about some of the locals, as we witness one getting tossed out on his ass. But the band kept playing and the crowd kept singing. A true experience at it's best. So although it appears to be a small hole in the wall, with crazy locals, don't let the rumors scare you. The atmosphere comes off as a cool NYC village underground vibe. What more can you ask for; great music, awesome selection of beer and a hot bartendar! A place worth coming back too.

I rubbed Nicks bald head for good luck and won lotto the very next day! I can't believe it!!Gone are the days when I could get a rub and a tug from some toothless crack whore in the back room, Nick sees to it that my every desire is fufilled! His head makes a great place to rest your beer while , hmm, guess you better get here and see for yourself =)

The current transformation of this once hole-in-the-wall dive is a pleasure to this beer drinker.We need more places like this where the emphasis is on good beer, good friends and good times not on making a fast dollar.A tru Oasis in a desert of everyday establishments.

The place used to be "The Village Inn" a real dive bar, a pure petri-dish of scum. Since its revival, the owners have made it a great local bar, it has a "Cheers" environment to it. You have dart's, pool, a decent juke box, and of course good drinks. New on the agenda is live music, and quite surprisingly good. Be sure to rub the owner "Nick's" bald head if he is there.

Found this place accidentally on a Sunday afternoon returning from the city- it's close to the train station. Bartender was great- friendly and knowledgable. Friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended. Frank.
