Numerous local microbrews avaiable on tap and in bottles. They have nightly entertainment. The 3rd Sat of each mo. an impropmtu group "Three Sheets to the Wind" does sea songs from 4-7:30. We stumbled across the place and plan on going back for a weekend.

I was there almost thirty years ago... waaaay back in the beginning! As a submariner across the river then, I recall the time I was offered free brew in exchange for welding up the old fire escape...irresistable for a twenty year old. No 'trailer-park' brands! I learned how to pour a good pint of Guinness there (and the verses of 'The Twelve Days of Rugby'.)...a skill carried forward to bar gigs later on in life. Learned a lot about the saloon trade from some real DC pros, but it still goes back for me to the Press Room, Portsmouth, Cow Hampshire!
P.S.: A well poured pint of Guinness takes time...anywhere in the world. (Been there, done that.) If you're in a hurry, you shouldn't be drinking Guinness or any other fine crafted brew.

This is an old bar with old traditions. They are famous for their music in the open mic sense. Lots of Irish and Jazz music downstairs, local bands upstairs. They have a good selectrion of beer and are said to be the first in the area to carry Guiness on Tap. Food is ok and the service sucks. Be sure to order your second drink when you order your first.
