This is certainly one of the best beer bars I have ever been to. It, and the Tornado, certainly are the places to hit in San Fran to find a large selection of quality beers. There must have been more than 20 beers on tap, with many varieties that I have never seen anywhere else. The crowd is quite "eclectic", but friendly (in some cases over-friendly ;-). We did not visit the patio to take "delight" in the aromas emanating from back there, but have been told it is "awesome" (wink, wink). The music is mostly metal, but was in-line with my tastes. A bit of a haul from the tram, but the Latino shops on the way are quite interesting in their own rite.

The place has seen better days but it's still a good spot for a drop. Fortunately the patrons and staff have more bearing on the atmosphere than the management. It's one of the few places in the city I'll stop when I'm there (as much to see if they'll still serve me as to get a pint).
