A great bar/restaurant for the price. Something for everyone. We never have a problem finding something good to eat and drink.
David and his partner John do an excellent job of making you feel like they're happy you're there...always stopping by your table to chat. The friendly service probably makes everything else seem that much better.
Never been disappointed!

This bar/restaurant gets an A+, both in terms of food/beer quality and service. The owner, David works the room superbly and stops to chat with everyone...you'd think you had known him all your life. Great atmosphere as a result. For the kind of food it is, it was excellent and we found the beer selection to be terrific.
If you're in Bloomfield, you have to try it.

Last weekend was my 2nd visit to Lot 17, previously operated years ago as Aussie's by another owner. This is a nice bar with natural brick interior and dining on 2 levels. There was a decent crowd watching NCAA action on the many TVs, mostly drinkers, not eaters.
We ordered a pitcher of Hop Devil, one of our most favorite hoppy beers. After a few swallows and after comparing notes and making faces at each other, it was decided that the beer was definitely funky. Whether it had gotten warm or old, the taps were unclean, or maybe just a bad keg, we didn't know. The bartender claimed he sells alot of it, so it should not be spoiled.
After we pointed it out, he voluntarily and quickly replaced it with a pitcher of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which tasted the way it should. We were surprised that the tap handle was not pulled and the other bartenders were not told that the beer was foul.
If you go to Lot 17, you might ask for a sample before you commit to a pitcher. Hopefully this was a one time only problem!

I visited Lot 17 on a Wednesday night. There were 10-15 patrons, all 30-50 year old men, watching the baseball game. Atmosphere was OK, not exciting.
The beer selection is ~ 15 taps with another 30 or so choices in bottle. You can definitely find something to drink, although there are a few too many alco-pops in the mix.
The stuffed peppers were excellent. The buffalo chicken sandwich was average. The wings looked good, but I had already placed my order.

Lot 17's an interesting mix of a stylish facade out front, an old-style bar inside the door, and a snazzily modern dining room in the back, kind of an upscale neighborhood tappie. Definitely looked to be the most "bar bar" on this block, though there are better choices not far off: Bloomfield Bridge Tavern just down the street, for one, and I'd probably go to the Pleasure Bar for dinner. But a good enough place to hole up for a few, and the food has gotten some good reviews in local press lately. Worth a look.

The crowd can be a bit pretentious at times. The music is not much to speak of. But, it's a nice place to take your old lady for dinner and a drink.
