This is also one of my favorite breweries and I have been to over 50 in Colorado alone. The Steam Engine Lager is great and the good thing is they can it. This makes it nice for taking to car shows, etc. Just as good in the can as it is the bottle. The food has been good every time we have been there and no problem with service.

We travel a lot, and Brew Pubs are the determining factor of where we stay. Honestly - this is one of the BEST brewpubs we have toured (out of possibly 50 or so?) Service, food, selection (usually 12-15 on tap) are outstanding. There is a Steamworks in Durango, but the service has snobbery about it and has never had that friendly ambiance associated with most brew pubs. The staff in Bayfield is very friendly and knowledgeable – they have fun... The brews at Steamworks Bayfield have clean finishes - all with distinct tastes. Not watered down, but not too heavy (unless you are aiming for a Stout or Porter that is supposed to be). Steamworks in Bayfield is a MUST!
