Went for a casual dinner. My companion had the carnivore pizza while I had the mussels mozambique and a small lion's salad. The Pizza: A 9 inch pie, it was more than enough for one person for dinner, and was tasty to boot. The flavours were bold and big. Ham, pepperoni and chicken with cheese and a spicier-than-normal pizza sauce created a hearty meal. The Salad & Mussels: The salad was nothing special, basic baby greens, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. The mussels were ok. The broth was a little too watery and could have used more of the tomato leek topping. The dish came with 2 huge slices of house baked bread which was soft and had garlic butter.
Overall: I would go again, but not too often. The 3 dishes noted above cost $31.

The food in the basement (the lions brewery restaurant) is amazing, especially the Saganaki, Eggplant Moussaka, and the Pizza's. Great patio for enjoying one of their microbrewed beers spring, summer, or fall.

This is one of a complex of small restaurants/cafes in one building. The local beer is very good (I'm partial to their black and tan blend, but their Aldys Ale is excellent as well) The food tries to measure up, but it's just variations of mediocre pub food. Wildly popular place, though. Go for the beer, expect crowds at the usual times, don't mind the service, you're supporting a U of W student.
