We found this little place while we were looking for another. We were hooked!! Limited beer selection(which Samuel Smith would you like)?Me? I'll take one of each. The mead was awesome...and Joe was a very entertaining guy. Give the pimms a go, too. We spent a week in Seattle....must've went there for at least 5 happy hours, despite plenty of bars near our hotel..and had to drag ourselves out to catch the flight home to New Jersey. When in Seattle, chack it out...a really cool, unique place...

This is one of the coolest beer bars ever and it only serves a couple of beers at any one time. I've been here a couple times on trips to Seattle and I don't think there have ever been more than four beers available at any one time; however, rest assured that the beers are all high quality. Imagine drinking in a small used bookstore and you've got the right feel. A must see when in Seattle near Pike Place Market.

The White Horse is our usual watering hole after working our tedious jobs dealing with vendors and tourists at the Pike Place Market. Joe's small selection of ales (and single lager) is enough to keep us coming back, as is the atmosphere and the intelligent (or at least intriguing) conversation. Dog-friendly and you can smoke outside.

The White Horse Trading Co is a bookstore with a English style pub inside... or it is a pub that has a bookstore inside, either way its a great place to meet friends of make new ones. The ales are rotated on a semi-regular basis. One of the great things is that you will always find a beer that not available at every corner pub.
Joe runs a great place and makes all of the dogs and people feel at home.
Best tip: ask for what's off the menu...

The previous review was probably put up by Joe, the owner, or Alan, the "Norm" of this bar, but I will concur with it. Due to the onerous Washington state health and liquor laws, no food is allowed on the premises. Conversely, dogs are allowed!!! The atmosphere is great...very traditional London pub style. The beers are the larger quantities for no more than $5 for the most part. Joe also carries one local GOOD white and red wine, along with a champagne and port. A VERY nice establishment and well worth a trip if hanging out at Pike Place or on your way to/from Kell's. Chances are you'll never make it to Kell's and end up staying.
