This is one of my favorite Toronto bars. Their small but excellent selection of beer (around 6 on tap, and none are throwaways) focuses on Ontario microbrews. They have some tasty original cocktails, too.
I'd describe the menu as "sophisticated comfort food." A lot of the food is in a down-to-earth Toronto ethnic fusion style. Some of my favs: shepards pie made with lamb and sweet potatoes, frites with 3 sauces, roasted root vegetables, and stuffed portabello muchrooms. Everything is fresh, homemade, and way above the normal pub food standard.
The atmosphere is friendly, and at least one of the three owners is always there. They've always got something good on the stereo, too, but it's quiet enough to talk. This is just a relaxing, happy kind of place.
