I was in town with my fiance for a conference at Cornell and naturally checked on PubCrawler for the latest in places to visit.
We had the Chapter House at the top of the list, but found it closed for Fall Break. Wadering back to town we spotted the Ale House with a Victory Brewing neon sign in the window. No LaBatt's here!
A great selection of seasonal and local beers, rotated often to mantain their freshness. The double IPA from Ithaca Brewing, 3 miles away, kept this hophead in Alpha Heaven. Had a draught Young's Double Chocolate Stout for "dessert", so their selection is not merely local.
Three types of flights each featuring a different brewing style allows you to sample their extensive inventory.
For food we had mini-burgers, Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls, a huge nacho platter (home-made tortilla chips) with some killer jalapenos, and a flatbread pizza, all great.
The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Our thanks and wishes for success in the future to bartender George and owner John. This place has only been open since May and is a gem in Ithaca. It will always be my "home bar" whenever I visit. It deserves your patronage Beergeeks of the World!
