Was driving through on our way to Orange Beach this weekend. Stopped by for lunch with my wife and 3 year old. Very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. The food was pretty good as well (son had the chicken fingers and we both had personal pizzas). I ordered the sampler. All the beers were good for their styles. My favorite was the oatmeal stout (Storm Surge). My wife had the Golden Lager which I though was quite good for the style. The IPA was a British style so while good, I tend to prefer the American style. In a very cool part of town, which being the first time I've stopped in Mobile shocked me. All in all, I would recommend this place. Good job guys!

Love the clever name for the brews. However, most are pretty OK, but not much more. The Insurance Adjuster PA, Flying Debris, ESB, and Storm Surge Stout were just OK, no real character or flavor. the food was average, loved the great service and interesting part of town it is located in.

The Amber is my favorite, but Todd just brewed up a tasty Irish Porter with hints of vanilla and chocolate. Yum!

A new brewpub is coming back to Dauphin Street in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Hurricane Brewing is scheduled to open December 2006 with a Grand Opening just after the New Year. Remodeling is almost complete and the building looks great and will have a more open common pub atmosphere. It is more than just a coat of paint; new kitchen and bar equipment, new air conditioners, and NEW LOCAL OWNERS and MANAGEMENT. The only relic is the fully operational brewhouse and former brewer, Todd Hicks, who will be brewing up some of his favorite English ales and lagers. Thank you all, and please come visit. - Todd G. Hicks, Brewer
