I've been fortunate to get to Capone's for their special beer events and came away more than impressed. Outstanding selection of beers is an understatement. Of course, if you find a winner, it's only a short walk to the bottle shop to take some home (if it's in stock!). Mix in some good food, a very beer savvy clientele, and you've got a winner! You can also stay up to date by getting on the email list--then there's no way you can miss the next great beers he gets!

I've known Matt Capone for about 9 years now since first meeting him in the restaurant. He's slowly brought in wonderful, exciting beer that has made Capone's a must stop while in/around Norristown. The past 2-3 years have shown rise to many of the expanding micro's and imports both on draft and in the takeout shop. Speaking of...years ago, I would run in the takeout shop for some imports, or lager but over the past few years, Matt has made an effort to now stock some of the best German, English, and Belgian beers available, along with many of the hard to find American micros in six packs and single bottles that you would otherwise have to buy a case via a distributor. He's willing to chat beer with you and bring in anything special that you've been waiting for. As for the food, there are nightly food specials during the week that make family visits worthwile in the dining room, or make yourself comfy at the long, spacious bar area. Tell Matt I sent you and enjoy the wide selection. Bring cash for the takeout room selection, otherwise feel free to pay credit while drinking at the bar.

Capone's has been my go-to place for the past 9 years. Excellent dinner specials throughout the week and as of late, a superb draft list. Matt Capone plans to expand the drafts to more than 20+ at some point. The other highlight is the takeout room. Hard to find beer at decent prices. There aren't too many places like this in the suburbs but when you can find them, frequent them often.
The takeout shop is opened 24/7 most days of the year.
