Stopped in on Superbowl Sunday. Was crowded but managed to grab a couple seats in the "outside" balcony. It located upstairs on the corner of the city square. Had a couple beers that were good. Food I tried was good.

Nice little sports oriented brewpub in the heart of old town Paso Robles. Had a pint of the Reggae Red, IPA and the Oatmeal Stout. The stout won best in show but, according to the barkeep, it was sadly running in short supply. Decent food menu. The Buffalo Chicken Salad Wrap was spicy good. Friendly atmosphere and close enough to Hwy.101 for a quick pit stop north or southbound.

This brew pub is on Pine St not Vine. Downtown Brew is a great place to watch a football game, and there weekly specials are awsome

Good Good So So Good Good
The food selection was limited and what they did have wasn't exactly executed to perfection. They get points in my book for having both pretzels and a sausage platter, but the mustard that came with the pretzel was pretty plain and the three sausage varieties that came on the platter were drowning in peppers, making them virtually indistinguishable. The BBQ bacon cheeseburger was pretty run of the mill as were the fries.

The beers were a little better. The IPA was flavorful, but a little bitter for my taste. The seasonal porter, amber, and honey blonde were all good. The blueberry was interesting and good. I really enjoyed the wheat, which had a crispness that was refreshing.

The service was initially lousy, especially considering how empty the place was, but I got more attention was the server realized I was there to sample a wide variety of their brews.

Paso Robles is a small town with over a hundred wineries. On a really hot summer day, after pounding down zinfandel for hour after hour, and it's 99 degrees outside -- what could be better than hitting a cool brewpub to suck down a few icy IPAs? Nada.

Stuck right off the square in downtown Paso, this second-floor pub also has a balcony where you can sit outside as the temperature on a summer evening drops below 80 -- as a gentle breeze off the Pacific comes over the coast range gap and blows the heat straight to Hell (Bakersfield). In the evening, Paso is heaven.

The beer selection also included a stout, an amber, and what appeared to be a wheat. Looks like a pale happens sometimes but didn't see it this time. I hung with the IPA which was not overhopped, but no hint of sweet malt either, pretty high gravity but compared to the 16% zins that infest Paso, beer is water.

Will go here next time for sure.
