This is the place for real food and real people - and of course Real Beer! The friendly staff always make everyone feel like a regular. It's a great place to mingle with locals and get the inside dope on regional lore, fishing and sights.
Papa Hemi's Hideaway is a traditional roadhouse and brew pub in an old log cabin where Ernest Hemingway once stayed. Beer arrives fresh from breweries from 4 - 70 miles around - There are always 7 local brews on tap, including a cask conditioned ale or lager. The food is fresh, local and always homemade, too. Nearby farms & ranches are featured for real local flavor. Chef-Owner Lynn Sheehan ran some of the top restaurants in San Francisco and won many awards before moving to Sun Valley in 2005. Her menu features something for everyone, from enlightened pub grub & bbq (like deep-fried pickles or the renowned pulled pork sandwich), to fine seasonal specialties such as Idaho Trout stuffed with Local Morel Mushrooms or super fresh Lamb Loin Chops with all the fixins from nearby Lava Lake Ranch. The burger is to die for: 1/2 lb of local free-range beef cooked to perfection and served on a delicious locally baked organic bun. French Fries!! The cover article of VIA Magazine (June 2007) pronounced them "the best in Idaho." (And that's saying something!!) Don't miss the house-smoked prime rib, homemade pies and soups, or the addictive garlic & rosemary french fries. This is truly authentic Idaho cookery & brews at their best!! A full wine list is also available. Friday & Saturday nights feature live local music from 6:30pm, usually bluegrass, folk or blues. Summertime around the outdoor firepit is especially fun. Picnic tables on the green lawn looking out over the mountain wilderness provide plenty of seating, and there are lawn games and lots of friendly folk to get acquainted with. Don't miss it!
