We were at the Terminal tonight, celebrating our wedding anniversary. I must say, I have not had a more DISAPPOINTING experience. I understand that there is a business relationship with the Landmark. I have never had a negative experience at the Landmark - quite the contrary, it has always been always positive in beverage, food and service. Tonight was quite the opposite. We were served by Joanne (head waitress), who although not the friendliest, was efficient in getting our drink order and kitchen order. We waited over an hour for a simple fish and crab sandwich order. After two drinks, and the next table receiving their appetizers, we decided to cancel the kitchen order and pay for the drinks. We asked to speak to Joanne's mgr (after all, it wasn't her fault!) After getting little satisfaction talking to the bar manager, I asked to speak to the owner. Joanne dutifully conveyed the message and although I could clearly see the owner (YOU if you are reading this!); he refused to come out and talk with me. We ended up celebrating our anniversary dinner at Arby's.
My advice would be to close the kitchen, which is obviously distracting your ability to perform at an acceptable customer service level and affecting patron's opinions of the "Terminal experience" and focus on improving the bar experience.
Sighs....more than a total disappointment, after so much hype. Wait! That was regarding the wonderful architecture!...Oh, sorry. I thought I was there for a "dining experience".
Copying all of my south side friends....
This is a Bad News/Good News review! The bad news is that I learned last night that the Landmark is closed for remodeling. Very sad....
The GOOD NEWS is though that the same owner has opened the Terminal on the same property! WOW! It is a really awesome place. Not as many beers, but still some old [Belgian] favorites on tap such as Chimay and Delirium Tremens!
Had two appetizers, both good. Ryan took good care of us as the bar and explained the origin of the interior building materials. Way cool! You'll have to stop in and check it out.
Will definitely be back.
