I was extreemly let down by the staff! They were rude and very inappropriate. One of the bouncers approached my friend and instead of announcing who he was he started touching her from behind. When my friend got aggressive he threw her out of the pub. It was a very bizzare and upsetting situation especially since we paid a large cover charge.

Great place to go that is friendly and warm. The staff is fun and experienced in beer. Worked close by and it was great to hang out with all the guys (Jeff) was an awsome manager and great guy. The crew always had fun doing there job. Is Jeff still there? would love to come and visit again.

Went here on my 21st birthday and I need to go back. A fun Irish pub decorated with police badges against the wall.
The bartender made me up a specialty drink called "stephanie" because of some girl that used to order it. vI recommend it if you don't feel like having a beer.

At least one waiter is alarmingly unprofessional and incompetent, such that I feel it necessary to warn patrons. This individual charged our table for drinks never ordered. When my friend raised the issue, he condescendingly asked her if she was alright or needed water (insinuating she was drunk when she was sober in preparation to run a 10-mile race the following morning). After paying for the drinks regardless, my sober designated driver husband was accosted and given someone else’s $40+ tab. The waiter publicly cursed at him and insisted he show him our already paid tab (tab and money were on the table). Even upon realizing his mistake, he was quite rude and threatened to have us removed from the bar. The experience ruined our night, such that we left our friend's birthday party. We will never return to Irish Times and will encourage our friends to do the same.

Nice spot for a quiet pint of the black stuff before or after walking the mall or just a spot to pour a few down your throat while passing an evening in the nation's capital. Friendly & low key.

I was in today asking about Fergus. My waiter said he was deceased. About a month ago. Check with the establishment for details. He will be missed.

A fun bar with a unique atmosphere. The place can get crowded, but if so, you can always have a few beers at the Dubliner (next door), then head back to the Times for some late night fun.

Bottom line...the service was horrible. Skip this place and walk next door to the Dubliner for a real Irish pub with friendly people and great entertainment.

This bar is one of the few really cool places to hang out in the city, with out all the bloody G-town pretension, the DuPont need to be avantgarde, or the Adams Morgan bar crawl feel. When I leave this city, the one place that I will really miss is this place.

I'm trying to find Fergus O'Keefe. He worked at Irish Times in 1998. He was awesome and I just want to chat with him!

Closest thing DC has to a real Irish pub (in atmosphere, anyway - the food is mostly your basic American bar food). Best time to come in is a weekend afternoon - weekend nights are ridiculously packed with college kids. They pour a good pint of Guinness, and will serve it warm if asked. Not much in the way of unique beers. Come in at an off-peak time and you'll probably enjoy it.

Nice authentic atmosphere but we were disappointed in beer selection. Standard Guinness and Harp, plus Miller and Miller Lite...and Irish ale from Wisconsin that was less than expected. Friendly, casual, with worn wooden furniture; too bad the juke box was broken. Booths and window seats are always appreciated. Preponderance of signage fun to look at too!

The Irish Times is a fine establishment, enjoyed by all. I feel it is the best bar I have ever been to. The staff is very personable. And I must say that Pete is the greatest entertainment this side of the Mississippi. The girls from Key West love him.

The Irish Times is the best place on Earth. Al, RB, Junior, Conde, Jeff, Monty, Martin, Dan, and of course, Brendan are the best bartenders/doormen in D.C.

The Irish Times is a "working man's" pub. Close to those in Ireland. Beer quality is inconsistent, though. For a small dive near Union Station, it can be surprisingly packed.

Sorry to disagree with you guys. Kelly's needs to clean out its taps more often. It's a total college/law school handout. Not bad, not great. There are definitely better pubs in DC.
