Spent an entire afternoon there and would not hesitate to do it again. The beers were great and the presentation perfect. This place is filled with a diverse mix of friendly people who all love beer and the staff reflects same.
Great service, good food, parking is terrible, but that's Seattle for ya. Worth the walk.

Stopped in for a growler refill. The Jolly Roger Christams Ale is awasome. Great malt; also don't operate heavy equipment if you have more than 1 pint

Hadn't been back here in a while, & recently led a pubcrawl that included the Jolly Roger - I had almost forgotten what a fun place this can be. First of all, this is as close to a real tap room as you can get here in Seattle (remember, you must serve food to serve liquor). The Food is nothing special, but the beer is great. I am not generally an ESB fan in the NW, since most are simply a weak IPA. But Maritime's is excellent, probably one of the 2 best in the NW (Bridgeport in Portland), it is malty & slightly sweet, not just a watered down version of their IPA. Of course, their IPA is also excellent, especially in the dry-hopped version that you can get at the Jolly Roger. The hefeweizen is pretty decent & drinkable, not a bavarian style hefeweiss but it has body and some sweetness to it (unlike so many of the Widmer/Pyramid clones).
Don't bother with the food unless you are really hungry. It isn't horrible, just not very good.

Imperial Pale Ale and Jolly Roger are awesome brews. I gravitate to these two whenever I visit at the expense of the other well brewed brews.

This is a somewhat difficult to find establishment, but well worth it. Since I do not like IPAs I drank a sampler of Flagship red, Nightwatch dark, Porter, and two others (?seattle lager and the seasonal). All were outstanding

I always enjoy the beer. Food on paper is a lot better than what arrives on the table. Italian and Cubana Sandwiches both seemed bland.

On tap the day I was there: Flagship Red Ale, Flagship Red Ae Dry hopped, clipper Heffe, Islander Plae Ale, Islander Pale Ale Dry hopped, Nightwatch Dark Ale, bosum's black porter (and on nitro) Salmon Bay ESB nitro, and IPA. The nightwatch tasted nondiscript. It had sort of a woody flavor and was very heavy, sweet, and dark. THe IPA was not very bitter but it had a good flavor. Saslmon Bay bitter nitro was very bitter but it disapated quickly. THe porter nitro was nice, but not exceptional

Beer is above average. Worth the trip to this out of the way, hole in the wall! Service was friendly and knowledgable. The food is a bad joke........... Come on, get some food worthy of your beer.

We travel to Seattle 2-3 times a year and Maritime is a priority; they always have 1-2 cask conditioned ales (which I can't find in Montana) and their IPA is always the best. Food is absolutely fabulous and yes, the people are always friendly.

This is one of my favorite pubs in Seattle. The beer is awesome and the people that work there are really friendly.
The menu is odd and a little on the pricey side for what you get...even for Seattle.

The food and the beer are OK, not great (though I'm not a beer expert, so take that with a grain of salt.)
The main reason I rate the Maritime so low is that it is *very* small and *very* noisy. It's a friendly place (the reviewer who called it a "working class tavern" nailed it, I think), but trying to carry on a conversation with someone is a task and a half, and finding a table after 6:30 is a chore.

Rather tiny and out of the way this brewpub is a must visit if only to taste the freshest expression of their world class Imperial IPA. All their beers are very well crafted and the food, while very limited at least allows you to indulge in another beer or two!

Some of the best beer in Seattle, with friendly service and excellent food. The main menu is mostly appetizers at a good value (try the Jollys), but there is an entree menu available as well. It's my favorite place.

They're known for their Christmas Ale (which they serve all year round), but the Imperial Pale Ale is truly astounding, the best beer in the house. Quality foods with interesting styles. Not much for vegetarians though.

New menu demonstrates that brewpubs can make fine dining quality food. The beer is distinct from other Seattle breweries, which is exactly what is missing in the Seattle brewing scene. If only the taproom were larger, people would not be turned away on busy nights.

Why is the pub closed on Sundays? With the quality of the food and beer being better than most pubs, this place should be open seven days a week.

This small and busy pub has no flash but has a good working class type of feel to it and they let you choose the 5 beers for your sampler.

They have their winter seasonal "Jolly Roger" pumped from a cask, which rules!! However, the cask JR is the only reason I'll ever go into the tap room. The food quality is pretty good, but the eccentric "appetizer-only" menu is small and way over-priced.

Try the Jolly Roger--a great seasonal beer that reminds you that you are drinking a real beer! I love this place and go back every time I'm in Seattle!

Small out of the way place. The service was excellent and so was the service. However they were out of the Porter when I visited, so popular they were only bottling it at the time. The Nightwatch was very, very good. No smoking establishment.

about 10 choices, but, unfortunately, the quality was not very impressive. I tried the porter and then a taster set of 5 and none of them were distincive.

I have always enjoyed Maritime's beers and ales, and when the opportunity came to visit the pub, I was very enthusiastic. The sign on the window indicated that food was being served, but the menu was very limited. We ordered a chicken dish, but were very disappointed with the portion and the cost for what we received. When the server asked how everything was, we indicated that what we received was tasty, but very poor value for what we paid. She became incensed and showed an extreme poor attitude. I tried to tell her that the owner should know when people are unhappy or disappointed about their "meal", but she rejected that suggestion. We will never go back, primarily because of how we were treated. This really hurts, because Maritime makes a very fine beer!
