This was my first time in Savannah and one of the only things I was told I had to do while there was go to Kevin Barry's...I went with a group of friends and we had a blast.....good people, good drink, good fun....we'll be back next year for sure!! I want to send out a big thanks to Mike(who only works there on that busy weekend)you were great!!

My husband and I have had the pleasure of visting Savannah the past 2 years. Kevin Barry's is by far our favorite pub! After several hours of enjoying the music,food,and beer its very difficult to get my husband to leave!

Listen Vic is my uncle, i love KB's more than anything. i use to have a crib behind the bar and you cant find a better irish pub on the east coast. If you think irish people arent there then you need to look harder like maybe singer all of my uncles friends. When the coffin-ships (if you know what it is) did a tour in Ga. my uncle and KB's payed for about 1/2 of all the money. Look 1/2 of the irish there i know have summer homes in ireland and go back alot they left because the unemployment rate is through the roof. This ones for they fagget liberal who said its a bunch of snooty republicans and patiots. Well you had most of that right but not the snooty part, yeah they are republicans and patriots because they love there country whats wrong with it. One more HELL YEAH we love are past and until north ireland is free we will still give and wolfe tone "Up the RA". All non-locals are welcomed my guess is that you did something and got your ass kick my one of the bouncers.SO KB'S FOR EVER IT IS A PLACE I WILL NEVER FORGET

You can't rate KBs just on food, beer,and service. When I go to KBs I know I will have an evening of great music in one of the VERY FEW listening rooms on the east coast where you can actually hear the music and join in. The entertainers are outstanding. You laugh, cry, sing, and maybe even dance all in one evening's meriment. If you don't get enough to eat or drink it is your own damned fault and if you don't have a good time . . . well, that's your fault too! Vic and all of his staff are wonderful and dedicated to the proposition that all beer drinkers are created equal!

My wife and I used to live in Savannah about a year and a half ago, and we stumbled upon this place, had an early dinner and ended up staying listening to the great music and drained a couple pints. We can't wait to get back.

what craweled up the ass of the people writing these reviews? my hubby and i stumbled upon KB's last may, and we have made it a point to go back everytime we are in savannah. we found the people, the staff, the entertainment, and the fact that we could have guinness, instead of "piss water" quite lovely. we can't wait until my teens are old enough to go with us. we'll be back may 31,2003. we look forward to seeing everyone again. we hope it hasn't changed a bit!!!!!!!!

There's a diner in San Francisco with the words "No Attitudes" gold-leafed on the front door. KB's should take a lesson from this, as its attitude is greatly in need of revision. The hallmark of a good pub is "All welcome who enter here," and not some high-handed nonsense directed at non-locals, which is what I've experienced on three visits to this waterfront joint. The true Irish that frequent the place are the sort that would do anything for Ireland . . . except live there (to paraphrase Declan Lynch of the Dublin Sunday Times), a snooty Republican crowd still fighting their grandfather's grand "risings" and giving off with a lot of waving of the tri-color while shouting out the Wolfe Tones' "Up the 'RA!" To their credit, they pour a proper pint of gargle. The menu is nothing to write home about (unless home is Afghanistan), with the usual bland fare offered at fine dining prices. TA AN LA ANOIS!

Kevin Barry's is one of the best pubs up and down the east coast. For those who say this place is not a REAL irish pub, with REAL irish people working there, etc..Guess what? WE ARE NOT IN IRELAND! This is Savannah, and we should be proud to be Americans. I'll drink to that!

Being originally from Ireland I found Kevin Barry's to be everything that I had missed from the oul Sod. My husand and I have spent many happy nights at Kevin Barry's and we believe it is one of the best pubs in the country the staff are wonderful and Vic Powers always gets the best Irish entertainers. I was at Hunter AAF with the 160th Special Ops Aviation Regiment last year. Kevin Barry's is a great hangout with the best food prices on River Street. See if they'll let you upstairs to look at the paintings and momentos from the Rangers and Special Ops guys. The owner is a true patriot as well. We always had our battalion "Hail & Farewell" functions at KB's.

KB's is OK but the crowd is more like a country club (a click). As an Irish person the beer selection is great because of Guinness and Harp. The food is OK and the service sucks.

Having been to Ireland, all I can say about this place is that it is nothing like an Irish pub. It's not even a good American pub. Food and beer too expensive, and not enough beer selection.

Nice place to hang out, drain a pint of stout and listen to live Irish music, but I wouldn't be caught dead there on St. Patrick's, the town gets a little crowded with amateur drunks

Kevin Barry's is a great little Irish pub on River Street. It is definitely a great place to go with a small group of friends and hang out. Beer selection is not that of a larger brewpub (like Oglethorpe)...but it has Guiness on tap and Harp...what more do the Irish need? So grab a spoon and come eat glass of Guiness.
