Beer quality is still awesome, range is still great. Food, however only went from so-so to good. I had the clam chowder today. Taste was great. Only complaint, potatoes are too big. Shrimp Potstickers were tolerable. Made with mini(didn't think they came that small) canned or frozen shrimp. They were okay. Never saw the server again after placing my order until I got the bill and I sat at the bar.

I have been stopping in this place since 1999 with the initial goal of finding a non-smoking establishment with decent food and full bar. What I found was a non-smoking joint (no pun intended) with consistently excellent food and friendly helpful and outgoing staff!
Since the non-smoking issue has resolved itself in WA, I continue to frequent the Nick for the quality of product and experience that they consistently deliver.
Too bad someone has an axe to grind in the other erroneous review ("Nickerson is closed during bridge construction" etc.)! I have been there twice in the past week and they are certainly open and still offering the great experience that I have come to expect.

All I can say is... "Thank God for the Nickerson Street Saloon!!!" I was amazed to discover a Fremont bar that didn't feel like a college fraternity bar. And goodluck finding a better burger in town!... seriously! Be Aware! they must put crack in their burgers, because they are a addictive. They have a kick-ass shot and a beer special after like 10pm. And here's the icing on the cake... no headaches looking for parking, unlike Fremont,... they have a huge parking lot.

First things first, The Nickerson Street Saloon is not now, nor has it ever been closed durring construction of the Fremont bridge. This "reviewer" has an axe to grind. Look if you had a bad visit, I am sorry, we have always stived to provide great service to all our customers. However writing so-called reviews that are filled with lies is wrong. We employ over 25 people who make thier living here, if you feel that damaging thier ability to earn a wage is a fair trade off for your bad experience then you are as heartless as you are careless. As the general manager I would have appreciated the chance to hear your complaints, either in person, with a phone call or even a letter but that was never the case. You instead chose to slander us & try your best to damage our business. I'm not suprised that you use a fake name to post your lies, as a real exchange is clearly not your style. Well The Nickerson Street Saloon is still going strong, with a full staff, seven days a week.

It's a good thing the Nickerson is closing during Fremont Bridge construction. The place is a mess ... many beers out of stock ... what we had was warm and served in dirty glasses. (Mine had lipstick on it!) Manager/owner was less than helpful, made it seem like we should make allowances because there was construction on the bridge and most of his staff left. We used to like to go there a couple of times a month and meet friends. Not any more. What's left of the staff stood around looking at an empty dining room, while we had to walk to the bar to get our own drinks. yeah ... it's our fault there is no custom with which to trade. Closing is the best idea. Won't miss ya, though ... perhaps the new owner will open up a really customer friendly place to hang out. It will certainly be refreshing ... maybe the new owner will hire a wait staff, too! Good riddance.

Back when this place was the 318, a simple tavern, the burgers were great. Then it remodeled yuppified and started offering great microbrews. Now the food is so-so. I've been three times in the past year and have been disappointed in the food each time.

Food is consistantly great, regional microbrew selections are great, large outdoor patio, no smoking inside. What more could you ask for!
