Humpy's has gone down hill fast. This use to be a great place but.....don't know what has happened, it's not the same place at all. There are plenty of other places with much better food and drink.

Now non-smoking - this place has a great selection of beers and the food is great. It's generally packed which is a good indication of popularity.

I turned 21 in this place back on 1/1/1996. It has held a special place in my heart ever since. I moved out of AK in '99, but my wife and I return each year and we always spend an afternoon in Humpy's enjoying some great beer and good food. Their Halibut Tacos are the best! BTW, what happened to Rico Trusty? That guy was going places. I heard he was involved in a car accident which kept him from playing music after recovering...too bad, he was the best. I really thought I'd be buying that guy's CD from EMG someday. At any Rate, if you only eat at one place while visiting Anchorage, eat at Humpy's. Beer Selection, staff and food are great.

Quite possibly the best U.S. brew pub (not trditional pub) in America. Sit outside on a midnight sun evening; eat great pasta (carbo-loading for the marathon), excellent variety of beers. Go back again for an outstanding burrito, made right in front of you. Need a reason to return!

I make a bee-line to Humpy's as soon as I get off the airplane. I have never been disappointed with the food, service or beer selection. Halibut and steamer clams----Wonderful!!! It is part of our "must do when we're in Alaska list." I just wish there was some way to get the Alaskan beer distributed here in MN.

Multi-tap (40+) beer bar with a reputation for good food. Stopped in once at the start of March, too briefly to eat, or to notice what (or if) beer was on cask. Very popular, crowded, and smoky.

The only thing that keeps this place from becoming Awesome is that it is still smoking. If they were to build a second story and put the smokers on top or vice versa, this place would do oh so much better. Great wait staff and th food is generally great quality. Never got to see the cheese tortellini pasta eventhough it was new but never quite available. If you like beer, this is THE place.

The best selection of beers in the state. The food is unique and carries a local flavor without being touristy like other places. It's very crowded when live music is there, but during the summer, the back is open as well. They host the best footracing event in Anchorage every year.

It's a pretty good bar. I was impressed they had good food as well. Mike, the big redheaded chef does a good job. Sometimes the service can be a little slow and the staff surly though.

Great place, despite the dark interior. 46 taps (although I never saw more than 38 beers on the list - who's counting?) with an astounding selection of Alaskan and West Coast brews. No cask-conditioned ale, however, despite the handpump on one side of the bar. Everything I had was good, so they must have cleaned the taps! If you've got only one night in Anchorage, go to the Moose's Tooth first, then come here to try what everyone else is doing.

The Belgian beer is way overpriced. In Belgium we get the same stuff for "pennies on the dollar".

The selection of beer is out of this world. The price of the food is out there too.

This bar is overrated by many....the vast quantity of beer makes it a favorite of mine. Although, I swear they need to clean their taps because some beers do taste off. I personally can't understand why everyone raves about the food, some of the basics (burgers, tacos, wings) they serve are palid, but sometimes they come up with something that is fantastic. With all the money they make, they have to find a way to get more natural light in the place. (and to think that one of the partners is an architect - sheesh)

One of the biggest varieties of beer on tap at one time in Alaska. They have great food too. Lots of Alaska stuff like halibut and salmon. The crab leg appetizer is a steal at $20 in the summer. The specials are always changing and different. Save room for berry crisp. Great Beers, from micros and local stuff. The only way you can get bud is in a bottle.

Definitely one of my favorite Bars. Almost considering moving to Anchorage just to be close to it. Definitely a great place to hang out with friends. They also have a lot of styles of beers, including some, like a good Barleywine I haven't seen elsewhere.

This is the original bar that started the good beer drinking in Anchorage in the summer of 95. It still carries 42 beers including 2 cask conditioned beers. Definitely one of the hot spots for the night time clubbing.
