Tried the sampler. The pale Ale was the best of the group (contrary to last review) Cheese and Sausage Soup was too salty for me. (it's made with Cheddar Cheese, so what did I expect?) One of the other's in the sampler was also very good for a light beer. The Honey Lager, I believe. The rest were pretty non-descript. Most were Lagers and I'm not a big lager fan. The Stout are served way too cold. There were three on tap when I visited. Besides the Iish, there was also a Coffee and Whiskey. The Whiskey Stout was the best of the 3. Memorabilia is quite extensive, worth a visit just for that.

We visited this place with high expectations, but were very disappointed. We arrived about noon on a Friday and sat a table about 4 feet from the bar. After a while, a waitress told us we had to go the bar to get a beer. We ordered there pale ale and asked for a taste of the raspberry weis. The pale ale was undrinkable, we could not finish the beer!! --Which is very unusual for our group. The Raspberry did not taste so good either. We decided to pass on lunch and get out of there.

Don't miss this one if you are in Milwaukee. At least 8 beers on tap. Good beer, good food, good service.

It is worth coming to Milwaukee just to try the Baverian Weiss at this place! I likewise gives thumbs up to the Pils, Pale Ale, Amber and Dopplebock. I guess they have to have taps for Miller and Miller Lite because it is Milwaukee, but why would anyone want to drink them with so many excellent microbrew choices? The New York Strip was excellent and the bartender, Kelly, is both very attractive and very knowledgable about beer!

I have to over rate this place as Sprecher and Lakefront were both closed for private parties. They were very friendly and the food was very good. After visiting the first two places only to find them closed, I enjoyed Water St very much. As I described in my review of Onopa, this place was very good compared to the other Milwaukee brewpubs, but average in the big picture of American micros/brewpubs.

I travel ALOT and always try to visit a local brewpub where ever I am. I assumed Milwaukee would have some tasty beers and good german food. I wasn't dissapointed. The Pale Ale is one of the best in the whole of the USA. Very complex and interesting. How can a beer be interesting? It is! The food was great and the service outstanding. I tried the beer sampler and enjoyed all but one. T shirt logos were kind of ugly but the beer. MMMMM

9 samplers for $6.50 were good to varying degrees. The 6 malt Oktoberfest (degrated in previous reviews) was complex, unique and delicious. The honey light lager may not be simple enough for the miller/bud crowd (although later, i went to Miller brewery and had my first miller high life in over 20 years and really liked it! I didn't know high life was made with corn. go figure?) Anyhow, they also had 3 diff wheats(reg, white, raspberry), irish stout, dopplebock, brown ale, German schwartzbier. The raspberry wheat was NOT extract, and it tasted very good. The grilled salmon with basil linguini and tomato basil cream sauce on the side was excellent! Good beer, great variety, solid menu, who could ask for more. oh, if u have a prob, contact bartender Justin.

The food menu never changes, but the seasonal beers are always good. The new brewmaster, George Bluvas, recently won a few awards at Great American Beer Festival. His beers are far better than those brewed their up until about 2000.

The beer still sucks. For a brief moment in time about five years ago, they had a good brewmaster. Now it's back to crapola.

Enjoyed some really good food but perhaps the worst "Oktoberfest" I have even had the misfortune of tasting. (I'm not some "rookie" beer taster either.) The beers are absolutely horrible. And people at the bar were sucking them down and appently enjoying them! YUCK!

When we were there they had eight beers on tap. My favorites were the Oktoberfest, amber and the pale ale. This place is good, but not as good as Milwaukee Ale House.

I always make it a point to stop at Water Street when I'm in Milwaukee. I love the Oktoberfest beer and always have my daughter bring back a growler when she visits Iowa. Outstanding menu and service. Keep up the great work!

They brew the beer on site so it is very fresh. It can be a bit expensive for a tapper, but the FOOD is tremendous! Once in awhile you might see a sports celeb if there is a game in town. highly recommended!

The beer is average here, but a letdown by brewpub standards. The pale ale was pretty decent, as was the wheat. Everything else was nondescript. I'd compare this to Rock Bottom... haven't been to the Milwauke Rock Bottom yet but based on the reviews of it on this site, it's no better than the Chicago one. So if you've been to Rock Bottom, you get a good idea of the beer quality of Waterfront. Fortunately the food was considerably better than the beer.

I have never been to a brew pub where the beer was so uniformly terrible. My wife, who has a better sense of smell than I do, said she could smell the phenol when we walked in the door. If I had made the raspberry wheat they were serving, I would have dumped it. The only beer that even approached drinkability was the pale ale, and it was marginal at best. Very Disappointing!!

This brewpub had the same four beers that every brewpub seems to offer. Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary. The cream ale could have easily been a "lite" beer. No flavor to it at all. The bar tender seemed uninterested in being there or in serving us. He even made rude comments about other customers in front of us.

Like several other reviews state, the beer is nothing special. I have been to this place on different occasions over the past 4 years and the beer has always been about the same. It has a great location and nice atmosphere with decent food. It must be something in the water, because all the beers have the same funny off taste. When I want a good reliable beer, I always head down the street to the Milwaukee Ale House.
