This is the real Mammoth Brewing Company's Tasting Room. It is not at Whiskey Creek Restaurant! The Company brews their beer there but they are not the same establishment. If you want friendly, knowledgeable staff come to the Tasting Room. (760-934-7141) It was great! You can try all award-winning beers before you buy.

Tasting room offers samples of 9 beers. All very interesting with many awards. The Paranoid Pale Ale was quite hoppy with a smooth finish. Amber was very well balanced. Try the unique "395 IPA Reserve" brewed with sage and juniper.

Nice selection of beers, the amber being one of my favorites, as well as some of the darker seasonals.
As spring sets in, having a happy hour pint (or 2) here on the way down from the slopes and watching the sun drop is quiet, but pleasant.
The brewery is attached to Whiskey Creek - Angels and Whiskey used to be owned by Sam Walker, but he sold those and kept the brewery and has been putting on the beer/blues festivals in the summer. I'm more a fan of the lite food at the bar than downstairs (meals downstairs haven't been as good to me since it was sold).
Selected beers can be found on tap at most places in town (including on the slopes), including The Clocktower (beer cellar that's up and across the street - under Petra's Wine Bar) which is where I'd head if I was looking for a more interesting selection.

Considering this is the only brewpub choice in the area, it is still good.

Once we figured out that Whisky Creek was adjacent to Mammoth Brewing we decided to seek it out for beer and dinner. The food was excellent and the beers were well crafted. What was particularly odd, though, is that they do not have any type of beer menu, nor would I waiter recite the beers currently available. "Tell me what you like and we'll probably have it." If you're a beer enthusiast I'd avoid this place -- they don't even know their own beers! (I guessed IPA and they had one, which was well crafted but could have used more hops; my wife guessed a heifeweizen but they didn't have one. It took a couple more guesses until she settled on a red ale. -- extremely strange way to serve craft beer. Or any type of beer for that matter)

While in Mammoth at Angels restaurant, and in Bishop at Pizza Factory, I had Golden Trout Ale. I like it more than any other beer/ale I've ever had. I was disappointed that it isn't bottled. I'm down around San Diego. Where can I get some? Who down here carries it?

Actually this place is part of Whiskey Creek restaurant. Called the place when we go into town, no one picked up, thought it was just a brewery so we were gonna skip it. At the last minute we went to Whiskey Creek and there were the Mammoth tanks! They are seperate entities but together under one roof. The manager was nice enough to buy me a pint of IPA...very tasty !!!

My most favorite will always be the Double Nut Brown!!! I wish it would be bottled and sold in the local stores from Lone Pine to Bridgeport. Please do this soon because then I could drink it more often

There are few beers on earth as good as their Mammoth Double Nut Brown. The one that has come closest to dethroning it is the Mammoth Dunkel Lager. The Double Nut Brown tastes good to those who are beer drinkers, and to those who don't like beer. Their non-dark brews are good, too, but they doesn't stand out like their Dark Brews

There is something wonderful about the beer here -- particularly the amber. I don't know. Something happened when I drank a pint of it. It was smooth, leathery, buttery, and fresh. It was extremely good. But maybe it was too good. After I had drained a quarter of the glass, something started happening in my brain. My vision suddenly blurred and I could feel a sort of rift of sensation down the center of my brain. It was an unforgettable experience. Now that the key has turned inside my head, here I stand. I can drink no other. When I get out of prison, I will try to live right next to the brewery.

The Golden Trout Ale was very smooth and light. Something you could drink alot after a long day of skiing. The Wild Raspberry Wheat had a nice flavor and good after taste. THe Nut Brown Ale was very hearty and was my personal favorite. The High Sierra Amber had a very hoppy flavor but would be very good with a steak.
