There is a decent beer selection, but the beer on tap was warm. It seemed like the bartenders had better things to be doing than working behind a bar. They were not social, accomodating, friendly, etc. They were just plain nasty. I won't return. We went onto a few other bars in the area and had superb service and, most importantly, cold beers!

Here's the deal. Barrow Street has some things going for it. It's affordable, has a pretty decent selection of beers, and good bar food. However, no one can get past the fact that the owner makes this place miserable. He's that bad. Don't even bother going. Although it pains me because the place is really cheap by New York standards and the food is really good. I would rather they raise the prices and so the owner can afford a much needed attitude adjustment.

always has some good deals on pints,$3 brooklyns, but atmosphere has always been low energy with no one there. maybe "every" time i've been it's just bad timing. nice location, just blah.

One of the most disapointing experiances in bars ever. Very rude bartender and waitress who is not rude but not nice either. Very missmanaged place - probably absentee owner. Overcharging and not wanting to correct. If you buy beer by the pitcher it cost more per glass than if you buy it buy pint!? False advertising and again extremly rude employees.

Huge Bar, with pool and darts downstairs. Actually got a buy back on my last visit, almost fell off my stool! Nice and dark the way a good NY Bar should be. About 15-20 on tap and about the same or a few more in bottle, beer of the week special, I think it was $2 pints on those. I'll be baak!

It's really not a place where you would hang out for a long period of time. Maybe stop in and have one or two beers and hit the road. The one thing that sold me is that I love cats and they have 2 beautiful orange tabbys named Rudy and Ozzie, that live there. So I stop in have a beer and pet the cats.

Place is dark dank and kinda shady. The "basement" where the pool tables are located it reminiscient of Torqamada's dungeons. This place is great for low key, dress down fun. Hurricane shots are good sized and well poured.
