The management is bad, which shows from the service. The restaurant has roaches and no hand washing facilities for the servers. I can't rate the food because the owner wouldn't let his own employees dine there, ever. Take it from a former employee, you don't want to go there.

The service could be improved. The last 4 times I've been there in a matter of 3 months have been slow. I only have an hours time of lunch during work hours and I have always returned to work 20-25 minutes late. The food is good though. Just bad service. Saturday nights are fun, only been once and had fun.

Some of the slowest service you could ever imagine. Think ten minutes before you get your drink, warm water, and inattentive servers. Lukewarm steaks did not come with steak knives and I had to wait until the steaks became cold until the servers brought out steak knives. The large beer selection is about the only good thing. Be forewarned: order another beer right when you receive one. You'll be done with the first by the time you get the second.

Despite the beer selection this place really sucks. I suppose if you came off peak it would be okay. It's sort of a pretentious meat market. Unless that's your scene it isn't worth the trouble.

Warm, comfortable establishment - rich dark wood in the bar, huge windows in the dining area. Oh, and a magnificent selection of beers. 29 on the menu, plus three seasonals. Probably didn't have all of them at once, but we ordered eight, and were never denied. The selection is admittedly light on the porters and stouts, but they have a great mix of regional and out of town brews. One beer I ordered, the bartender said "try it first." Turned out to be sour, so he saved me the cost of that mug. Which, by the way, wasn't much. Happy hour even on SAturdays. This place is definitely worth visiting.

Needs a greater variety of beer styles (ie. porters, stouts, belgian style ales, brown ales). Why do they have multiple brands of the same style? How about some style variety.

The best bar in the D.C. area.The service is great and the crowds on Thursday nights are awesome during the summer with the college crowd being there.

If you think gen x'ers and yuppies thrown together in a small bar won't ruin your appetite for a great beer, then this place is for you. The selection is awesome if you can find your way to the bar. There is some outdoor seating on good nights but even that doesn't help on a Friday or Saturday night. The beers certainly make up for what this place lacks in atmosphere, so drink up. Late night happy hour is unbeatable.

VERY crowded last time I was in. I was happy to see Shiner Bock on tap, but was surprised by the flavor. Didn't take too long to place-- a Heffel Weisse was given to me instead. Still, a good beer. The next bartender I got was a little better, but the crowd really was a bit much. Went outside and only part of the patio area was opened-- the rest closed off with plastic chains-- I'm assuming this isn't standard OP. Regardless, great energy level, great people, GREAT late night happy hour.

20 beers on tap, with a good selection of seasonal beers, especially around Christmas (Anchor Xmas, Snow Goose, among others), and above average food at fair prices make this a great place for any beer-lover. The happy hour grub is awesome.
