Watch City is even better now than when I gave it a good score 7 years ago. House beer selection is varied, with good representation of the styles across the board. Cask brown ale was fantastic, mild and rich at the same time. Imperial Stout was top notch. The food was very good as well, even the mac and cheese was impressive. Good service, great place.

Awesome! Awesome! Great Good Awesome!
Started with the cask hop explosion IPA, a very good representaion of the style, quite hoppy, awsome mouthfeel and proper cellar temp. went to the Fn'A IPA with an advertised 9.4ABV Top bloody notch! and finished out with a moody street stout again very true to style with a smokey feel and wonderfuly dry finish. I couldn't be happier! I can't understand why other reviewers are bitching about no small beers, suck it up people real beer comes a pint at a time! go home and have a warm milk if you can't hang you whiny f*-#'s. By the wa the food was good too.

All beers at Watch City tend to be very dark and heavy, moreso than you think from the menu descriptions, with the Tick Tock Ale the least "offending" that way. If that's your taste, then great, although for most people, this isn't a place they can deal with the beer day in and day out. More than one beer drinker I've taken here has suggested we steal away to the Skellig Pub next door after one or two glasses at Watch City.

The food is good, and the physical layout is very pleasing.

They ran out of both IPAs which is what I wanted. Besides that the service was lousy, the entree came before the appetizer and so on, not attentative. The fish and chips were below what I would expect for the Boston area.

This brewery had the unfortunate luck of following Salem Beer Works on my tour of Boston Breweries. This place was OK, but the beer was weak. Can not stand up to Salem, sorry.

The last few times I have been there, or gotten take-out food and beer from there, the service has been bad, they've screwed things up, and the service recovery has been absolutely atrocious. It's disappointing to have a total failure of service ruin an otherwise good restaurant.

A good server can really add a lot to the experience one has at any establishment - even more so if it's a brewpub and the server knows a lot about beer and is enthusiastic. Our server was only one for two, but maybe it was an off day. The place is comfortable and not cramped, and the layout is decent. The food was really good, and the prices are ok. The Beet The Clock Amber Ale is advertised as being flavored with beets (hence the name - duh) and I would not have tried it, but my wife was more daring. It was a big surprise, and it tasted great - a nice clean finish, and a deep flavorful mouthful. Didn't taste like beets at all -- just like a really good amber taste. The Hops Explosion IPA was a disappointment; served too warm, and not really interesting. Not bad, but not really good, either. Sort of an IPA wanna-be. The Moody Street Stout was decent, although a little malty for my taste. The Pie-Eyed Pumpkin Ale was very good -- but not a whole pint of it, and pints are all you can get here. This beer should be advertised as a beer to be drunk while eating; it has a great spicy taste to it, and it would go well with pork or chicken. It's too much to drink a pint of, though; after a while it stops being a fun thing and starts getting annoying. Go for the Beet The Clock Amber Ale. Prost!

Nice enough place with 9 house beers, including such adventurous styles as a Belgian style Bruin and an oak-conditioned cask ale. Maibock was excellent, rich malty and true to style.

This place was average, The beer was good the service was so/so. I do have to admit that their Pumkin Ale was done quite well. I'm a little spolied trying to compare any brew pub with the one in my own back yard.

Having to drive after, I would have liked the option of having a small glass but they only offered pints. I started with the hand pumped cask-conditioned pale ale and never left. It's all I want out of a cask-conditioned beer. Hoppy, cloudy, low carbonation and served at true cellar temperature. Very tasty. Sandwich was so so. Fries were ice cold. Service was OK. Can't vouch for the other beers but pale ale is great.

"Out of sample glasses" with only a dozen patrons in the big, rather empty place. No small glass size either so I can't speak for more than the IPA and food. Over-rated.

I am confused by high ratings of this place. Maybe they have just been there more than I have. I'm from out of town, but once was enough.

The beers all show similar hoppiness, generally to the detriment of the brew. The Abbey was the most original of the group. The staff openly discussed pub problems in front of customers. Service was slow. The food was better than the beer, solid overall with a scarey fast (my wrap came in under 3 minutes) kitchen. I liked this the least of any brew pub I've ever visited.

Beers are generally very well-made, with a nice variety of styles. I feel the food is a bit high-priced, yet good nonetheless. Prosit!

This is a brewpub that focuses on the basics. They have hoppy craft beers, good service, and a classic brewpub atmosphere. I'm assuming the food is reasonable, too. A well-managed business. Worth a visit!

Great Great Great Great Great
finally returned for a second visit and had great time. tried the Hops Explosion, and if you like your IPA in the 'classic' NW style- hop nose, clean going down w/ medium mouthfeel and nice dry, slightly bitter finish- as i do- this is your beer!

carol behind the bar was a blast and the food was very good.

the stout and burley whine are solid beers.

this place is a must do.

I'm in the Boston area monthly and have been making the rounds. Watch City is tops on my list. The live jazz band was a nice touch

THe IPA is very hoppy, just the way I like it. THe atmosphere in this place was cool. I was recently there on a Tuesday and the place was packed.

A nice place with overall good beer. The Titan is good, as is the Porter. Worth a return.

Had lunch there, the Titan and Jon Hop explosion that I had were great, the Tick Tock and Citrus were enjoyed by my wife. The burgers and fries were also enjoyed by both. We went for the cajon turkey roll-ups but they were not on the menu any more. A great place for lunch.

Medal winner Porter was not ready. Moody Street Stout was VG.

I had lunch here not dinner so I can't rate the food higher. The pulled pork sandwich was moist and tangy. The Cajan Turkey rollup was great! I had the Road Rash Rasberry Wheat (not good, not very berry and mostly winey), Clockwork Orange Summer Ale (good, light with a nice hint of citrus, if you like this sorta ale try this), Titan Ale (great, a good tasty ale), Moody Street Stout (great, not Guiness but a flavorful end to the meal). The service was quite slow in taking our orders. This was about 3:30pm (in between lunch and dinner) and the place was nearly empty.
