Might have caught them at a bad time but the amber I had was sour. The Vienna lager was much better. The beer menu was a bit depleted. Good food menu. My blackened chicken fettucine was excellent. Small crowd but it was a Tues. afternoon. Located upstairs in the Village Arcade Center near Rice U. Considering the ack of brewpubs in the area, worth a try.

I visited this brewpub on Septmeber 16th 2006 and had their Barleywine. I inquired with the bartendress as to when the beer was produced. She stated that it was fresh. Knowing that barleywines are generally not produced in the summer I asked her to check on that. The brew master stopped by to let me know it was produced in 2003 and that this was the last keg. Once it runs out he hopes that management will let him produce another. I hope that he is able to because this was an excellent example of the style. It reminded me of a well aged Young's Old Nick. Not to hoppy and well balanced. Stop on by and check it out before it is gone.

I'll echo the comment that this is a chain brewpub. Not bad, but predictable in a sense. Think Rock Bottom. The hefeweizen was Bavarian in style, but with too much banana and not enough clove. I had the IPA and it almost tingled. I'll come back and try more at a later time. Worth a trip back? Yes. Worth a special trip? Not unless you're going to the Gingerman which is just across and down the street.

I had the Porter and, I think, the Irish Red. They both tasted a little dirty, not bad, but not great. The porter did have a nice thick body to it, and they have a pretty good beer selection. It was a little more of a mass produced chain atmosphere than I like in my brewpubs, but that's me. The pizza was pretty good as well. I imagine it is a busy place thurs-sat.

Great atmosphere. Especially if you sit outside. The beer is pretty good, especially if you go on sunday - how can you beat $1 pints?

think the two rows in Dallas needs to go back to school and this Houston location needs to teach them about making better beer...the difference between the two is amazing. poor vs great

Pretty standard as far as chain microbreweries go. Good, but nothing special. If youve been to Rock Bottom, youve been to Two Rows. If youre looking for a big selection, hit up Flying Saucer downtown.

IPA at this location is a nice hoppy session beer, nice range of other beers available. Menu covers most cravings, and portions are generous. Service is always friendly and timely. Good spot to enjoy happy hour beer.

I've been in love with the Oatmeal Stout for several years. Once a resident of West U, I now live in East Texas and will make a special trip to Houston after calling to find out if the "Stout" is flowing. There stout isn't a true stout, like Guiness, it's more of a porter because of it's sweeter finish. But that's what makes it incredible. Wish they would bottle that stuff. I'm not much on the Honey Blonde, but the girls love it.

neat place in a nice neighborhood..brick oven pizza and steak dinner were great...good beers, but lacked selection..we tried the oatmeal stout and cask red...both quite good but a little light...the only microbrew in houston to drink at so stop by if you're in town...but don't miss some of the beer bars around the area...

The location in the Rice Village area is the best attribute. You can start here or end here while still visiting some other establishments. The home-brewed beer is pretty good. Pizza and service are good.

Had a really good meak and some really good beer last weekend. I liked all the beers I tried with the exception of the Stout which was just missing something. The Barley Wine more than made up for the Stout's shortcomings. Had a nice Steak and shrimp dinner & my wife had a nice fish dinner. These guys are the only game in town but if your in Houston they are worth a look.

I have been to Two Rows a number of times over the years. The menu is broad and the food is generally quite good - this most recent time no exception. You can usually find at least six different beers on tap. On this visit, I had a nice, malty Octoberfest, and a solid cask-conditioned red ale. However, I was not impressed with my wife's Strawberry Blonde Ale, which seemed fairly tasteless when I sampled it. Two Rows is Houston's only brewpub these days, but it does reside in a pubcrawler-friendly area near Rice University. Right across the street is Brian O'Neill's Irish Pub, a new location of Little Woodrow's, and the legendary Ginger Man. Parking is a real challenge in this area on a weekend evening.

Not too different than the location in Dallas, decent beers and good food. The seasonal Winterfest was unusual for the style, pale and malty but with a pronounced hop finish. Better enjoy the Houston area's sole remaining brewpub.

Great Barley wine! The oatmeal stout was nothing special, but give them credit for brewing a great variety and having them available unlike Bank Draft who runs out of their beers. Huge place-was packed on a saturday night. Pasta dish I had was awful- but manager took it off my bill without me ever complaining. Well run place, and about 7 of their own beers. If you like barleywines you got to go here.
