This place is now called Bourbon St. and is now longer a brewpub. Beer selection is nothing special. I have heard the old Spanish Springs beers are going to be made by a place in Ocola soon.

House beers have been offline for 6 months, some issue with federal bonding. Restaurant is planning to convert from Italian theme to Cajun. They are hoping to resume brewing. Sad sequence, as the beers used to be quite good and food, prices were excellent.

This beer is now only served in the Italian resteraunt that is attached to the Brewery. I could care less about the food. But the beer - OH! The BEER! It is wonderful. Many different choices including a deep, dark, delicious stout called Noche Bueno. We live on a farm and drive 45 minutes to this weird retirement village just for the brew. Lots of old folks drinking and having a great time. During HH pints are only $1.75. We Love This Place. A must see!

As the writers ahead of me say, if you can get to it, do yourself a favor and go. It is unique and everyone is very friendly. The wife was able to shop in the nearby shops while I enjoyed a couple of cold ones.

what a strange location - a retirement community - for a superb brew pub! but in a way, it makes it even more fun! and you certainly can't beat the prices with a stick. it's actually worth the trip if you can find a nearby place to stay and don't have to drive. cause you're gonna want to have more than one beer at $1 each during HH. the cool thing is, you can walk around outside in the square with your beer! there is usually some sort of entertainment going on in the square - (older)people are dancing around, cool old cars are on display, bands are playing -- dang, almost makes me wish i lived there! alas, we are only middle aged parents who take our son bowling at the Villages' modern and clean bowling alley WHERE THEY PIPE IN THE DELICIOUS BEER from Buzz's brewpub. check it out sometime, you won't be sorry and may even find yourself wondering how soon you can go back!

Tried the sampler. They were out of their two wheat beers, and the sampler didn't come with the stout, but they added the stout in at no charge. The low-carb beer was similar to Michelob, and the light beer tasted like standard macrobrew nastiness. And But I think they brew these for the folks who don't know any better, because the rest of their beers were excellent. Especially the red ale, the porter, and the stout with its coffee/caramel finish. And you can't beat the price -- less than $4 for the sampler. I look forward to returning the next time I visit Florida.

Be sure to say hi to my cousin Buz when you visit. Get the sampler. Don't leave without tilting a glass of his award-winning Billy Bowlegs Porter!

Captain eh! Ron, did you make that last post? :)
I love this brewery! ...but I will have to admit I'm bias. I have tended bar at Augustines (restaurant part of brewery) for 4 years. My personal beer favorites are our Octoberfest (a medium red marzen-style lager) and our Brown Ale (a seasonal brew with a nice malty flavor). Happy Hour is from 5-7, 7 days a week, 2-for-1 on anything that contains alcohol. 1 pint = $2.25 Hours of operation: 11:00am - 9:30pm Note: On Sundays we can't serve alcohol till 12:35.
Come visit me on a weekend afternoon and taste Florida's finest beers.

This is a very unusual brewpub located in a retirement community ("The Villages") which consists of 30 different villages with a combined population of 35,000. Many of the patrons were Village residents but there were many from the surrounding areas too. The Razz Wheat was very good, as was the Pale Ale. The food and beer was very reasonably priced, an all-you-can-eat pasta meal with salad was only $7.95, several different pasta combinations available. Other menu items were similarly priced. Everyone here was unusually friendly, although we were strangers many of the regulars were table-hopping and would come, one or two at a time, and sit down at our table with us just to introduce themselves and chat. Every time one of the extra chairs at our table was empty someone would bring their beer and sit down for a few minutes. Unique!

If you are anywhere close to this establishment, it is a must. It is nestled in the heart of a retirement community (go figure). I have not eaten the food so I can't comment on that, but the beer is definitely top shelf. The Stout and Pale Ale are very good. Those are my favorite types anyway. I was there a couple days ago and they have a new one. It's called the Amber Ale, but it really deserves a better name. It starts out with a slightly sweet Butter Scotch flavor, but finishes dry. It is probably the most complex flavored beer I have ever tasted. If your lucky enough, Annabelle will be your bartender. She is a very sweet young lady that enjoys quality hand crafted brews.

Excellent quality, especially the seasonal American style Pale Ale. Extra hoppy (ok, I'm a hop-head)- some of the best I've ever had. Stout is excellent, also. They close too early.

Spanish Springs isn't actually a brewpub, but they brew for Augustine's Restaurant in The Villages retirement complex (Between Ocala and Leesburg on 441). The brewery is located within Augie's Taproom, but the brewing operation is separate from the restaurant. They featured 6 beers on tap: Spanish Springs Light, Lila's Silver Slipper Raspberry Wheat, Father Rollando's Righteous (Cream) Ale, Augie's Oktoberfest, Billy Bowlegs Buffalo Beer (Porter), and Sebald Select Stout. I would rate all of their beers above average, with the Porter and Stout in the "excellent" category. If you don't mind the snowbirds on golf carts, stop in for $1.50 pints 5-7pm weekdays.

Surprised and delighted by this visit. Sampler was regularly 6, I got all 9 on tap. Good overall variety of beers that being low-hopped are non-offensive to non-connoisseurs. Very attractively priced, also $1 pints at happy hour.

A great place!!! It's located approx. 1 hr. N of Orlando, just off of Rt. 441, in a retirement community. The beer is cheap ($1.75/pint and $7/pitcher). A very big variety of brews, but make sure to ask for all of them. The brown ale is probably the best, while the food is outstanding. The only major fault is on a Friday night the place closed at 10pm.
