Sat out on the patio soon after the place opened and just sipped my beer on a beautiful afternoon. It's a very cozy place that just takes you away like a bar in the keys or even New Orleans. The selection of beers were also very nice. If you can't find something here...you don't drink beer. I heard the pizza is good but they don't serve it till 5 and I had to leave.

I've got mixed feelings about this place, but overall I really kind of like it. The atmosphere is very casual and a great place to hang out with friends, and the beer selection is superb -- imports, domestics, you name it, they've got just about anything your heart desires. First night I went there (I believe it was a Monday), it was pretty quiet and cozy, and I had nice conversations with the people sitting at the bar while quaffing several of the numerous Belgian ales they have available. The next night, it was a little busier and people all had their cliques and didn't say a word to me... which is fine, that's my problem, not theirs. I enjoyed a few more Belgians and was on my way. Later in the week, there was a live band, and a cover charge to go with it. I figured, what the heck, so I paid the cover and went in, sat at the bar again. The place soon became very crowded, loud, and smoky. Not my style, but my own fault, I know. But like I say, overall, I have to say I liked the place. At least on a quiet night, it was just what I needed. Some nice European beers, and pretty ladies to look at. The bartenders were always friendly and attentive, even when it got busy. And, Belgian ales on tap? Wow, couldn't ask for much better than that.

This place is awesome, great selection of beer. I don’t understand why anyone gave it a negative review. I can only assume they were writing about another bar. I have been there many times and the staff are extremely pleasant. A wonderful off the main path place to enjoy a good beer, especially after work.

NWB has layed back, casual, non-elitist atmosphere. They have an incredible selection of Belgian Ales and make some very good pizza. No, they stopped brewing a few years ago, but there is a wide selection that is properly and happily served. Your best bet is to do both NWB (for the atmosphere) and TBBC (for the microbrew).

Not a bad place if you already know somebody. . . otherwise the atmosphere is rather elitest . . . Best things on tap are Turbo Dog and Blue Moon - hit the special on Wendesday. Oh yeah - Simpson's pinball and two foosball tables are the other draw... Not to mention various and vicarious live entertainment!!!

Why don't you move this place out of the brewpub category and into the beer bars? They never really made beer.

New World is now, and has been for over a year, a beer bar not a brew pub.

Found this place after we went to Tampa Bay Brewing...brought a group of 20 of us but were sadly dissapointed by the lack of any house brews...we left to go around the corner as did the other reviewers...sounds like they need a new brewer with a better attitude anyway. Dont go there unless you just want a good tap selection.

New World is NOT brewing beer at this time and has none on tap. The personell told me the brewer/owner has ceased in ordre to concentrate on upgrading his operations. Most recently he brewed offsite in 5 gallon batches and transfered his brew into small kegs to serve it at the bar. Discussion with other Tampa brewing folks indicate this idea to upgrade has been rumoured for a couple of years and will be believed when seen. New World does serve a wide array of bottle and tap beers and has an attractive location in the midst of Ybor City.

Disappointing. There was only one (brewed-on-premises) beer on tap - a stout - which was good. This place had more of a night club atmosphere, not that of a brewpub. The staff was friendly enough, but not enough to bring me back. Atmosphere was all wrong.

Flawed beers is an understatement. Most beers are of the hoppy variety (Pale, IPA, ESB) yet all three beers had the prevalent flavor of dust, wood, and nuts. Very strange. Tampa Bay Brewing is just around the corner, so avoid New World at all costs. By the way, the other reviewer talked about the owner and his rudeness. I spoke to the brewer and asked him why his beer was flawed, and he basically threw me out. Not very nice people.

Had the makings of a great little brewpub. The decor was "out of this world" so to speak. Reminded us of a typical pub in Cancun, Mexico with outdoor seating. The pale ale was Ok. But then I don't normally like pale ale. Not much to choose from either. Only two house beers. Tampa Bay Brewing Company two blocks away had much more to offer.

Tuesday night is the night you'll find me there for many reasons. The atmosphere is great, the service is great and there are many beers on tap. I've been drinking their pale ale lately and I really like it.

Visisted the pub on a Sunday afternoon, while the brewer/part-owner was playing pinball. Asked to speak with him after his game - was snubbed and ignored - NO CLASS. Three beers on tap of which two are pale ales. Very plain - with no hop aroma or flavor.
