A very small sampling room, could hardly get to the bar or the door to the brewery (whre the bathroom is). Four samples for $1, four on tap. The beer was good but not great. Nice location. wanted a shirt but the did not have anymore at the time that I visited. Also, did not have one of the beer styles I wanted to try on tap or in bottle.

I got a variety pack of this stuff and nothing really stuck out as great. its an average brewery that makes beer, i would not be buying variety packs from them anymore. i tried it, drank it, and moved on.

Just a quick walk across the river from New Hope, a left at the first corner and continue to the end. A $1 for tasteing the four beers they had on tap. Lager, Belgian dbl, and pale ale and belgian tripple (winter beer). I brought home a variety 12pk. Glad to hear that they are now available on LI.

Another brewery that makes me proud to be from New Jersey,it shows the rest of the country that we have more to offer besides pollution. Pretty standard beer selection for the most part, but they do it well. Check out the surrounding area while your at the brewery, Lambertville and New Hope, maybe even head back to Trenton and take in a Thunder baseball game. There is some good history in the area too. It's a nice day trip.

Located in a nice spot on the Delaware River. Good clean gift shop, where you can sample all their beers for $1, or buy anything from a t-shirt to a pint glass. Their Special Ale and Belgian Frost were the best. Decent selection. The people were friendly and knowledgable. Definately a great stop when visting the Lambertville/New Hope area.

Great place to stop and say, Cheers. River Horse is strategically located along the Delaware R. bike path in the charming, historical, though somewhat Birkenstock-like town of Lambertville, NJ. Friendly beer conversation awaits in the sampling room (nice gift shop) and self-guided tour of the very state-of-the-art, adolescent brewery (been in business 5+ yrs). Their IPA is superb after twenty-five plus miles on the bike. Very dry-hopped and flavorful, it gives a nice bite to the tastebuds. Tip of the cap to the brewmeister for not skimping on ingredients. The only negatives, which to some extent may be beyond the control of the proprietors, are local regulations limiting sampling and a somewhat high price for their beer in liquor stores. Nevertheless, this first visit has wetted my curiosity to try other River Horse beer styles.

Stopped by the brewery during ShadFest for a couple of pints of Special Ale and Hop Hazard Pale. Decent, well-made beers, if not very adventurous. The beer garden bar-b-que was fun.

You must visit Lambertville & walk around the town & over the bridge to New Hope. Beer not as good as Krogh's or JJ Bitings but good, especially on tap-find out where it is served on tap- lager was a little strange bottled- nice shirts & caps stocked-on the pricey side- worth the visit

Stopped in at RH while cruising around the Delaware, on an unassuming yet hopeful Wednesday afternoon. Didn't know what to expect. Was surprised to find them open, and a couple sampling beer at the "sample bar". I hung out and sampled some, and got in a long converstaion with the couple, and another guy who showed up. We babbled on forever about social mores and customs in Europe as opposed to The US. A good time.... OK, the beer..... All the beer was good, but the only remarkable offering was the Hop Hazard Pale Ale, which is DRY HOPPED, something not seen very often, in my experience. Dry hopping provides lots of hop flavor, and not as much bitterness. I liked it so much, I bought a case. $27 for one case (ouch) but you only live once, right ? Very friendly guy working as a brewer there. And a pleasant woman serving at the sample bar.

Been to the brewery a couple of time. Beer is nothing fancy or memorable. I think they are more interested in selling the Hippo logo on Tshirts, etc. Then they are making beer. Gift shop is huge for a brewery.

They tend to lean to towards extremely light nondescript beer. There is not much taste to the beer and it seems watered down. If you are a Bud, Coors, or Rolling Rock drinker you will like their beers. If you want something with taste and body drink something else.

No trip to Lambertville is complete unless I stop at Riverhorse for a round of samples and good beer converstion with Dawn. As an long time microbrew sampler, I find their beer among the best.

Have been there several times since my last review. Glad to see a great brewery doing well! A nice place to visit with great people who show you around and make youi feel at home. Merchandise is very nice with a wide assortment of colors, etc. Can't wait till the next visit to Lambertville!

Folks, for a good time visit the brewery and sample all you can. Then buy some beer and picnic on the Delaware for a truly wonderful afternoon.

This brewery is going great. It is NOT in financial straits and has expanded its distribution to NY and DC and is adding a sixth beer soon. No fork-sticking is required. NJ law prohibits breweries from serving anything but samples, but their beer is available in local establishments just a short walk away. As with any information on the Web, truth and accuracy is neither verified nor guaranteed, so it is wise to double-check. On Pubcrawler, this can be done easily by clicking on the business' Web address provided in the heading. I would be suspicious of any review by Kris of Linden as they are almost uniformly negative. I suspect he/she/it is a competitor trying to discredit the competition with whispering campaigns. See, another unsubstantiated "fact" on the Web.
