FYI - Olde Towne is under new ownership and closed for renovation until mid-May. The good news from the new owner includes the brewmaster being retained and the promise of a much improved menu. I look forward to sampling the results.

Without any doubt, one of the finest brewpubs in the USA. The selection of "homebrews" is outstanding...(you can't find a better IPA unless it has Sierra Nevada on the label.) The food has improved tremendously with new ownership although we're not sure how long they will last, as crowds at the bar are diminishing. Go here while you can, this place is without equal, I guarantee it.

Excellent cask-conditioned British-style bitter. But best to ask the bartender what's on the handpump. Ask any of the wait staff and they're guaranteed to give you that look that says "What's a handpump?"

It's too bad that the staff aren't as great as the beers. Very good stuff, avoid the lighter stuff and enjoy a large selection of house brewed beers.

A large pub in an historic part of Maryland. (even have a few dart boards!) Summer brews include a fabulous blueberry ale. Also, they sell "growlers" which are nice, heavy handled bottles (something like a Grolsh bottle but much larger) filled with their speciality beer for around $12-15. Bring it back for a refills for $7-9. Great stout, as well.

Joe's beers are superb and the burgers are terrific. The IPA, stout and porter are always delicious and the bartenders are always attentive and friendly. Even the occasional fruit beers are quite good! This is truly a beer lovers bar with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

A very pleasant place to have a beer and a bite to eat. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, so business was pretty slow, but I had a very friendly waitress and one of the best burgers I have ever had. I had their Amber ale (I don't remember it's full name) and it was very good. I will definitely go back again.

Mr & Mrs AC recently had the opportunity to visit again after a long absence, and we were not disappointed. The Harding's IPA, hoppy and fragrant, is my all-time second favorite beer (nothing will beat Hop Pocket, but this is close), while the Mrs. enjoyed the Windridge Blonde and the Logtowne Porter (which was darker and richer than the Diamond Stout; go figure). Also there for a limited time is the annually brewed, malty and strong Centennial ale, which I recommend drinking from the 10 oz. size. The munchies we ordered from the revised menu were tasty and nicely presented. I just wish we hadn't waited so long between visits.

The beer simply can not be beat. Brewer Joe Kalish is simply a master. Recently, a steam beer was on the menu and was as close to perfection as a brewer can get. As was mentioned in other reviews, the upstairs bar has potential to be awesome, but is literally polluted nightly with cigarettes and cigars and something they call live music. Improve this part of the restaurant and this place could be simply the best yet. New ownership could mean trouble though. The menu has been over-hauled (it was needed) and late night happy hour is a thing of the past.

Wide variety of beers, not one of them a bad one. Service can be spotty, and crowds a problem. The Mild I had was a great beer, but not true to a mild.

While some of the beer is pretty good, often the selection is small on any given day due to limited beer making. Half-price burger night is good. This place gets crowded on weekends so go early.

My second time visiting and once again I thought the beers were O.K. The waitstaff wasn't too helpful with the beers they had on tap. The Porter and Belgian Wit were good as was the food. The place is nice downstairs but I don't particularly care for the smoky upstairs bar or outside patio (microbrew in plastic cups - no thank you).

Just tried their Belgium Wit which I enjoyed very much. My friend had the blueberry wheat which she enjoyed but I found to be a bit disappointing. OTT&BC makes good ales (especially the Scotch Ale in season) but wheat beers are not their strength. The food on the new menu is much better than before but this is still not a place to go to sit, drink, and talk with friends since the place is usually very noisy.

Some great beers--notably an outstanding Scotch Ale--but a few rough spots. Weekend nights are impossibly crowded. Menu in flux with too many attempts at high end cooking that aren't pulled off. They'd be better off simplifing the menu instead of trying to be all things to all people. And a potentially great upstairs tap room too often polluted by both cigarette smoke and bad live music.

As I write, they have an outstanding Barley Wine on tap - it beats all. Their IPA is the best I've ever had! They have 2 -$2 happy hours every night! This brewpub kicks butt!

The beer here is some of the best I've ever tasted. A wide variety of ales from cream ale to Imperial Stout, you'll find something here to enjoy...I did. $2.00 happy hour pints are almost too much to pass up.

Terrific American-style IPA for hopheads, roasty Porter, interesting Forest Oak (not just another) Amber. Try the Chesapeake Chicken and Key Lime Pie (desserts made on premises).

This is the best. All the beers are masterfully brewed. Well balanced. The regular beers - IPA , STOUT, Porter are great. Cask ales are out of sight.

The colonial decor really fits-in well in Olde Towne Gaithersburg. The beer selection was great - Try the Gaithersber Golden and Forest Oak Amber. The Seasonal Beer, a cream ale, was very smooth and flavorfull.

Difficult to find but well worth the trip. Great layout with three floors and an outside deck. First two floors fine dining with full bar on the first. Third floor pub atmosphere with full bar and bands and access to outside deck with full bar as well. Neat view of train tracks. Beer can be awesome and is consistently Great! Food is excellent too.
