The seafood fettuccine was tasteless, stank and had as much flavor a 2% milk. Also ordered was a hallibut burger and yam fries, this also was no good as the halibut was to be cajun but also had no flavor. I will NEVER go back!!!

Wonderful old time pub atmosphere. Over-all, the beers were good. They had 12 beers they brewed. Nice place to spend some time.

I've read the reviews concerning the loud music. Apparently, they listened and toned it down. The evening I was there in August 2007, only a 3-piece jazz band was playing and they added tremendously to the ambiance without being over-powering! The beers were excellent! While I don't particularly care for brown ales, having requested a sampler, I was blown away by the brown ale--this beer was "over-the-edge" fantastic!!! The scottish ale was great. The pale ale was excellent change from the typical AIPAs (different hops). If this was an English pale ale, I do not know what to compare it with. It sure beats the hell out of Bass!
Having sampled the beers from Canoe's and Spinakers, the quality of the beers at Swans wins hands down!

This is one of the best brewpubs in North America. The brown ale is sooo good. The food is excellent. Sit in the glass enclosed porch and watch Victoria go by.

One of the best places to drink beer in Canada - IMHO.
Excellent Beer and food. Outstanding deals on rooms. Rooms are part of the pub licence so they will deliver beer to your room until the bar closes!

I agree with one of the previous reviewer's comments as to the volume of the live music. This isn't the place to go for a quiet pint or two. The beers were good, the selection plentiful. The only problem was that the barmaid obviously mixed up a couple of the styles, but the ones mixed up were easy to discern. For example she told me that what turned out to be the Scotch Ale was witbier and vice versa. The most outstanding feature of this place is that, without a doubt, it's the most beautiful brewpub I've ever seen. The flowers alone are worth going for even if you don't drink! I'd love to return someday for dinner or even when it's a little quieter. Go without hesitation when there's no band playing. It's a beautiful place.

Overall we had an average experience. Beer's were passable in what is a very busy restaurant. Black & Tan was good, stout fair.

Beautiful restaurant/brewpub. Located in the old section of Victoria with the bay across the street. Nice atmosphere-lots of wood, and during the day, a friendly place with helpful people.

Many discerning beer drinkers rate the Swans' beer as better even than that available at the nearby Spinnakers. There is a beer for every taste: everything from an insipid Arctic Ale to a manly Oatmeal Stout. Try the Riley's or a Black and Tan for a real treat. The only drawbacks: often crowded in the evenings and ferociously loud when there is live music.
