I visited this brewpub on 5/7/08 and had the following brews; Tiburon Blonde 4.9%, Raspberry Trail Ale 6.0%, Marin Hefe Weiss 6.3%, ESB 6.3%, Mt Tam Pale Ale 5.9%, Albion Amber 5.3%, "X"-IPA 6.7%, San Quentin's Breakout Stout 6.3% and X-IPA cask. We were seated on the patio for our sampler round even though we were not going to order food. This place must have a problem with seating because a sign indicated that you had to order food to sit on the patio. Their T-shirt selection was extensive in sizes and design. One of the few brewpubs that has realized that some beer drinkers have a beer gut that requires a size up to XXXL. A beautiful location and great beer will bring me back to Larkspur.

Nice surprise! The food was good. It looked like a pretty cool place. Right by the Ferry Terminal.

Stopped in on an overly warm Saturday afternoon and the place was a bit too toasty to be enjoyable. That didn't stop me from sucking down a few pints. The selection was okay but I'm not much on fruit beers. Stuck with the Mt.Tam Pale Ale, Albion Amber and the San Quentin Breakout Stout. No complaints on any of those choices. In fact, bought a couple bottles of the Albion Amber for later. They have a great food menu with excellent variety to satisfy most palates.Had a BBQ Swiss Chicken Sandwich that was not only very tasty but quite filling. Service seemed a bit off but I sense that a lot of that could be attributed to the heat and a good-sized crowd. And a lot of people were coming in to pick up growlers and cases of the bottles.A highlight of the place was a collection of hand drawn coasters by patrons that lined a partition between the bar and the dining area. Some interesting little pieces of artwork. Nice place to stop in especially if you just got off the Larkspur Ferry.

Highest marks all around. I tried 6 of their beers and they were all fantastic. Food was fantastic, place has a great setup and outdoor seating. They have a blueberry wheat that was out when we visited, much to my disappointment- but the peach quite good. I absolutely recommend this place.

The day we went to this brewpub their selection was down to 4 beers. I was looking forward to trying a darker beer, but ended up having a weak Hefeweizen instead. The food was average, and oddly enough though the menu was similar to Moylan's it lacked the flavor.

The Mt. Tam Pale Ale is to die for-took a growler home and promptly imbibed. Evidently some master brewers on hand here-try all their brews.

The beers tasted good, but were undercarbonated for the styles. The atmosphere, food, and service were great! I know they have won many awards, so maybe I caught them on a bad day... The beers seemed too young...

Been here several times. Always good. I have never been lucky enough to try any of their IPA's or Stouts. Seems every time I come their not on tap. Will come again and hope I truly get to taste their best. As for Mr. der haggmann... Real beer fans use Pubcrawler as a tool to share beer experiences and tell those on the outside world where you can find a good pint. Beer reviewing in general is objectional (not a science) and it's nice to have a web site where "pubcrawlers" can share. He probably doesn't exist, shame on someone. It sounds too good to be true that the sister brewpub got the same review as the first (look at Moylans). Let's try to keep people like "der haggmann" from turning pubcrawler into an advertisment. Nobody benefits from lies. Marin Brewing is a good brewpub. Maybe just not as great as Moylans...

Wide variety of brews (generally 6-8)with something for everyone, including one style on cask. White Knuckle ale (double IPA style) is exceptional when available - hoppy AND grainy. Starbrew is also wonderful. Often quite crowded, especially after work. Food is very good, fine for families, but usually quite loud. Brewers will talk to you if they're on a break. If you haven't been there, you ought to give it a try. I strongly prefer the Marin Brewing Company (and Moylan's, slightly further north) to those in San Francisco, and, hey, you can find parking!

I've been going here for years now, the beer is great, my favorite brewpub in the area. However, broken drum in San Rafael keeps them honest; it's a great place as well.

Marin is one of, if not the top brewpub in the Bay area. Excellent food, quality beer, and good service make Marin a quality stop. Unlike other SF brewpubs, parking is no problem. In response to the prior reviewers statement about being 'Family-Oriented', don't get the idea Marin is not a nice place to take the family to dinner. I'm curious what time of day he was there. Is any pub a place to take children at 10 PM?

Nice little place, but the beer was disappointing. Had about 7 beers on draft when we were there. We tried: Mt. Tam Pale Ale - OK, but a little funky. Hefe Weizen - OK Breakout Stout - black, but that's about all. No taste whatsoever. Marrinator - A Belgian Ale? Pretty non-descript name for a non-descript tasteless beer. IPA - Hoppy, best of the bunch, but lacking in malt and a little funky like the Pale Ale.

Not very family-oriented (the way a pub should be!), since it get's a bit wild at night. Great beers, and good rotation of new brews, along with good food...//TSB

This is a little noisy, particularly in the evenings, but the food is good, albeit a bit expensive, and the beer great. For a quieter experience with great beer and food go into San Rafael to the Broken Drum.

I have been to over 100 brewpubs, and this is still my 2nd favorite (after Barley & Hopps). Fantastic beers, good food, great service and great bottled beer to go. Not to be missed!

I have yet to be disappointed by any of their beers. Quality of food is decent and the location (in a shopping center) ain't too great, but the fact that I keep going back says a lot about the beer.
