There's nothing better than having a few Shipyards on a sunny summer day, sitting at the corner deck table watching the boats idle in and out of the 'port. Also a very nice interior pub for beers and food, especially off season when the tourists aren't mobbing the town. Just one thing would top it off for me...buffalo tenders, how 'bout it?

Stopped by in August, after whale-watch. Scenic location but driving and finding a parking place can be a problem at the height of the tourist season. Crowded tables but we sat at the bar. I love the Old Thumper, while my husband enjoyed the Blue Fin Stout. Sampled some artichoke dip--it was very good but I thought the prices for some items high.

Stopped by in the afternoon and sat at the bar...bartender was very friendly and helpful with directions and selections. Very generous sampler! Beautiful view of the harbor. Shipyard Export Ale became our favorite beer and we ordered it on several other stops on this, our first visit to Maine's coast.

A great place that was the forerunner to the Shipyard group. Beautiful view, and excellent beers. The Old Thumper uses the traditional English Ringwood yeast to make a fine tasting beer. The Shipyard Export is great as well.

I ended up staying till closing time both nights I was there because it was a party animal atmosphere. I met some great folks there and had a great time. The beer and food was excellent. It is an upscale brewpub that will not disappoint.

The beers were pretty good, but some had a touch of diacetyl that gave them a viscous quality. I liked the Taint Town ale best. IPA, Stout, and Winter Ale were good. Least favorite was the ESB. The service and the lobster were great. Excellent fries.

The birthplace of Shipyard beers...and God bless them. The Fuggles IPA, Old Thumper and Bluefin Stout are truely three winners. Cool location on river with a huge "English Pub" game room. The staff is casual making all feel completely relaxed. This is worth a stop when in area. One caveat: their logo-wear is a total gouge: $25 tee-shirts?

Great English beers are the centerpiece of Federal Jack's. Old Thumper was the clear leader and by itself would earn an Awesome. Federal Jack's has a nice atmosphere as it looks out over the piers at Kennebunk. I was there during the day, but, I suspect it is even more pleasant at night. I would highly recommend this establishment.
