I do not know precisely when Brewski's closed. But as of January 2004, it is no more. It has been replaced by a fancy Asian/fusion restaurant.

Tried the IPA - disappointed with the lack of "hoppiness." Also tried a guest brew - very nice selection of other offerings. Food was pretty good. Service - well, let's say the bartender spent more time socializing with his friends at the bar than tending to other patrons. Would give it a try again though.

Location is everything at Brewskis which is only steps away from the beach and is located in a "full of life" promenade. The beer is So So but their happy hour deals and "Mug club" make sure that you will not go home thirsty. One more perk would be the two or three local area night clubs that fire up around 9:30 PM that can turn a casual dinner into a late night grab bag.

It seems "Bis" and I cross paths in this neighborhood. Our opinions usually differ. This time, I agree with his review. I may be stronger on some issues, such as the ESB and Pils. Neither is worth any flavor distinction. This has been the establishment's problem since opening. In appealing to everyone's tastes with these beers, they appeal to no one's. However, a new batch is a new adventure.

A pretty nice place, especially for being in the heart of touristy Hermosa Beach boardwalk. Tasty Honey Red Ale and American Wheat, though didn't care for the the Pils at all. ESB was more of an IPA, but good, either way...//TSB

Great location not far from the beach. Be prepared to pay for parking but well worth the stop. Wish I had tried some food (looked good) but had to move on.

I just went in for a couple of beers. What a nice surprise. I thought the IPA was the best beer they served. Bartender was great. He knew about the beers and made interesting conversation on a host of different subjects. Can't remember his name, but he's from S. Africa. I'll be sure to stop by next time I'm in the area.

The setting can't be beat. Five beers on tap when I was there. The Helles took me right back to Munich - hoppier than most American versions. The IPA was dynamite. The Honey Red - "a Brewski's must" - was OK for its style, but I'd rather drink the IPA or the Helles.

Great atmosphere with a row of gleaming fermenters. Friendly, curteous, knowledgable staff. Not a “family place”, but they had no problems with my two children. Indoor and outdoor dining.
