Went to 13 brewpubs/breweries in one week 4/29-5/6, so I cannot write too much for each one, but "Beervanna" is the appropriate name for Portland. Every BP, beerbar we went to was top notch and friendly with great to awesome beers and service with few exception- the ones filled with smoke. But overall, compared to east coast, Portland is THE place for real beer lovers to spend at least a week. And we only did 2 McMenamins. Fly to Portland, grab an offcial beer map, hop on public transit (every BP was on a bus/tram/train line or a short walk) and have a beer blast!

Nice place with great view of river. Beer is pretty good. I found a fairly hoppy IPA. The happy hour appetizers were good and food looked good but a little spendy. Only downfall was the smoke but I believe I saw a sign saying no more smoking after 4/15/06. If thats the case, I will be back.

I have never been to the brewery, but this is some of the finest beer I've ever had. The Full Sail Pale Ale is outstanding on tap and in the bottle. Once again, I must lament the lack of availability in New Orleans (for a drinking town, our beer selection stinks).

In my opinion this place skirts at the edge of being considered a brewpub, though they do brew some beer on site, its more of a fancy bar for McCormick and Schmicks and and outlet for Full Sail of Hood River. Very yuppy, a lot of smoke, crowded and overpriced except for the 1.95 happy hour menu which is excellent. Also was disappointed that they didn't emphasize the beers brewed on premises. Might be better later at night when the after work crowd has cleared out nad maybe some of the smoke, when you just can't stand to not have a Full Sail. I agree with the others I'd rather go to Bridgeport anyday.

As with the other reviews, the location and atmosphere are good. The beer is a bit prices at $4+ per pint. Didn't try the food. There are plenty of other brewpubs in this city (like Bridegeport) that have better beer for less money.

Have full line of Full Sail beers as well as Deschutes. The imperial porter is an awesome beer, which they sometimes have. Full Sail also makes a great barleywine that they don't usually have here. It is one of the best barleywines in the country. The food is one of my favorite restauratns in the country. The Salmon dishes are incredible. Be sure to visit the best brewery in Oregon after finishing dinner- Bridgeport Brewing Company- hime of the world's best IPA.

The beers are below average for an Oregon brewery. Most have little taste and are not very assertive.. However the food is fantastic and the location and atmosphere is great. Its worth going to just for the food. They specialize in Northwest fish.

Classy brewpub near the Willamette River. Very pricey! Stick to the less yuppie BPs if $$ is an issue.

I have been here on a number of trips, and while the food, location and service remain top-notch, the beer continues to suffer. Maybe I am looking back with rose-colored glasses, but I swear that Full Sail's beers used to be much better than this. If you like seafood, go for the food. For beer, there are many better places in this mecca of the brewpub.

I love the food--the salmon was incredible. The porter was outstanding. I am an older lady and this establishment has made me young again--my husband thanks you.

I'm a beer fanatic. However. first let's talk food. The Harborside Restaurant, which is affiliated with the pub is truly fine dining and a special restaurant. If you can afford$20 a meal go there. They have 3 different types of Salmon, which are all incredible. The beer selection has around 7 full sail's on draft and several other Oregon beers. This place and Portland in general rule! Make sure to go Brideport also in town and also Pelican Pub in Pacific City.

The location, the decor, the beer variety are all good; but the quality of the beer, the prices, and the atmosphere aren't up to the high Oregon microbrew standards. Put this in a microbrew-free town, and it'd be fine; but you can't serve mediocre beer in Portland. Several of their own taps & guest taps, decent variety of food, but it's still a "Miss" for a hop-head.

On a visit at Thanksgiving, I was bitterly disappointed with the total collapse of beer quality at Full Sail. This place has all the Full Sail's, several on cask, and lots of other Oregon beers. Tasted every single Full Sail, and didn't find one that I could order. These guys can do so much better than they are doing!!!

Oregon Beer Deity John Harris is the brewmaster. He created the McMenamins beers, before moving to Bend to create the Deschutes beers, before coming to Full Sail. Harris is responsible for more great, successful beer in OR than any other single person. With that in mind, the Pilsner Room is Full Sail's specialty brewhouse. Harris brews special FS beers for draught accounts, as well as the Pilsner Room. 25 taps, about half of which are FS beers. 3 beer engines pour two FS beers and a guest beer. Order 6 oz glasses and compare Harris' pils with Urquell, his Mainsail Irish stout with Guinness, and his barleywine with itself. This is arguably the very best brewpub in OR for quality of beers and diversity of styles as well as the number of great guest taps. It's wonderful. Have I made myself clear? Oh yeah, it's too yuppified, being in the trendy Riverplace, crowded with visitors who smoke too much and like to do the meat market thing. Happy hour menu and value can't be beat.
