Great place. Has standard bar inside, inside restaurant and outside patio. I had the standard IPA, forgot the name, and it was so aromatic, you could smell it six inches from your nose. I would have had the cask conditioned IPA but it was lunch and I'm sure it was loaded with alcohol. Also had the best [turkey] ruben sandwich I've had in my life.

Visit Durango at least once a year. This is the best Brew Pub in Durango. Always visit Carver's several times when there. Atmosphere, food and friendliness also excellent. In the summer sitting out on the back patio in the evenings is extremely enjoyable. Their brews are always very good and consistent in taste. Durango has another Brew Pub and a number of Restaurants and Bars that sell Micro Brews. Carvers is by far the most relaxing. When I have been in Durango, Carver's never has brew specials and sometimes the prices are a little higher than the other establishments. Very clean.

More upscale menu and atmosphere than its neighbor (Steamworks) and FAR better beer IMHO!! Atmosphere is fairly casual, family-friendly; great beer selection and quality. The food was great -- my kids' meals (PBJ on whole wheat!) came with fruit -- quartered kiwi and red grapes, a nice change from the usual packaged fruit cup! The baked steak fries were awesome, and my salad was a nice fresh assortment of greens (no iceburg). Their ESB (a "session" beer) was full of body and flavor, with plenty of hops for the IPA lover; my husband's Jackrabbit Pale Ale was equally as good. We will definitely be back when we're in Durango!

Had a great meal and read the "good" on beer as "very good." If you are bothered by second-hand smoke, I think you will prefer Carver BC by a mile over Steamworks.

The beer is only good by durago standards, but if carvers were in Louisiana it would be nothing less than Awesome. Plus, the food is great by any standards.

Nice diversity of beers and of food. In particular, I liked their Nut Brown Ale and their Oatmeal (yes, oatmeal) Pale Ale--very reminiscent of a good Cream Ale. The food, though is a real plus. I had an excellent chipotle-grilled steak, while the wife had an excellent pasta entree. One last comment: this place also serves breakfast... And very good ones at that.

This IS the place for micro brewed beer in Durango. The back patio is awesome. The food is excellent, with beautiful service. They have a very tasty stout and IPA. Don't miss it.

Recently remodeled, Carver's has an inviting back patio that is perfect for a leisurely lunch from their broad menu and a few brews from their kegs. Ask for the cask-conditioned selections for a real taste treat!
