I was at the Sandlot on 6/21/09 - the Father's Day match up between the Rockies and the Pirates at Coors Field. The Rockies won and it was a great day to catch a game in one of America's best ballparks. The Sandlot contributed to the quality of the experience; they had on tap a splendid Hefe - which for a hot afternoon in the stands - is the ideal accompaniment. Their other offering was an Amber which had traces of a 'Belgian' flavor to it. I didn't know if it was by intent or the tap got crossed up with Coors' 'Blue Moon.' Compared to what passes for "beer" in the stands, I was deeply grateful for the Sandlot.

Although the location is great and convenient to the game, but this is not the place to come for a micro. We had the smoked lager. WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING! I like rauch beer, but this one’s like drinking an ashtray. The red is OK. The best thing this place has going for it is its $3 pre-game pints; get a Blue Moon in here instead of paying $6 in the stands.

Pretty neat place, bring in the Coors Field ballpark. Sandlot is owned by Coors and has several flagship beers like Blue Moon, but nothing special. Sandlot does not appear to be open other than during ball games, even though it has an outside entrance.

The beer here is average, but what do you expect from a brewpub owned by the king of yellow fizzy beers? However, it is really nice to have a brewpub IN a ballpark. The staff was really nice even though they were really busy. By the way, we saw a "Beer for Dummies" book laying on the counter in the brewing room.

After reading the comments some of you fools have posted, I just had to add my thoughts. This brewpub is awesome! Sure, you might find a brew every once in a while that is a little off, but what do you expect? This brewpub is the test brewery for the Coors plant; of course you are going to find a few beers with bad taste (Notice the word "Test"). For the most part though, the majority of the beers that are developed at the Sandlot are wonderful. For example, without the Sandlot, Blue Moon, one of the best wheat beers on the market would not be in exsistance. I think it's great being able to go there and try differnet styles of beers, without getting the same boring choices that one might get from mainstream brewpubs, like Rock Bottom (Not that Rock Bottom beer is bad, it's just the same taste over and over). All said, the Sandlot is a great place to get some good tasting brews. P.S. When your there try the Slugger's Stout. It's one of the better stouts I've had.

Located on one corner of the attractive Coors Field baseball stadium in Denver is the Sandlot Brewery and Rounders Pub. Sandlot is a test brewpub for Coors (which is located nearby in Golden, CO) and also produces all the Blue Moon that is sold at the stadium. The pub is only open from 11 am to 2 pm Monday through Saturday, and during Rockies games it is closed to the public and only accessible from inside Coors Field for attendees of the baseball game. Try one of the brewmaster special ales that have won numerous awards at the GABF -- these are the beers that make visiting this brewpub worthwhile.

I have yet to visit the brew pub, but would like to comment on one of their beers which is available at the Med in Boulder: The Barmen Pilsner is awesome. Reading some of these reviews, I am curious to visit the SandLot to see how good or bad the other beers are, but the Barmen Pilsner is one not to miss (silver medal winner at GABF).

Very good, and well brewed beer. Maybe it is the plastic cups during games that turn people off that are bad mouthing it. I never buy their beer at ball games, but on off days it is a great place for a pint.

Amazing, brewpub inside a ballpark. Coming from Alaska where Coors products usually taste pretty bad for me, I was surprised that Coors can taste pretty decent when you are this close to the main brewery in Golden. Although the food was your standard fare, the service was friendly and prompt. This is rather an unique brewpub in many ways.

Very good beers. Exceptional Hefeweizen with terrific flavor. Nice Barley Wine needed just a little more conditioning.Good ESB and Stout. The Amber Ale was heavy with diacetyl (butterscotch) and was the only beer that was not impressive. Beautiful NSI brewhouse makes some really nice beers. If you can find it open (usually closed unless its baseball season) I definately recomend giving it a try. Hefeweizen is one of the best and won a bronze medal at the GABF.

Only reason to go is for the Rockies game.. otherwise you are a fool to waste money when there are so many great beer joints within a block or two of Coors Field. Beer is whacked out expensive.. $5.00 for a 12 oz plastic cup.. that's ball game prices for you. If you are at the game and want a good beer.. leave and go to the Falling Rock just down the street... if you don't want to miss a couple of innings try the ESB.. it's the only one that's drinkable...

Nice idea... a brewpub at Coors field. The beer, food and service were pretty good. I can imagine how crazy the place is during baseball season. Worth a try while in Denver. The ESB is a hit!

Coors experimental brew location, this place can have very good beers and very bad beers. The day I went (the season was over) service was so good that I was able to get to the better beers. If you want the very best beer right by Coors Field, try Falling Rock, with 69 beers on tap - and some very rare ones too!

Hey, what can I say? The beer is generally lousy, but ITS RIGHT IN COORS FIELD!!! Accordingly, the best (and perhaps only) good thing about this place is location. But ya can't beat the location. Still, if you're looking for decent brew, you're actually better off going to one of the numerous beer stands located throughout beautiful Coors Field (or Coors Canaveral to you altitude junkies and homer fans)that sell "Beers Of the World" which include local micro's (of which I'm partial to the Left Hand Porter, Fat Tire Ale, Oasis Stout, and most of the brews from the Rockies Brewing Company in Boulder...Oh yeah..try the Elle's Brown from Avery)

A typical Coors product. Nothing unique about this beer, a poor attempt to get in on the microbrew market. Coors uses a new name to fool the public into thinking it is a microbrew.

A very nicely decorated pub with amazing copper brewing equiptment. The pub is at Coors Field, home of the Rockies. The pub is owned by coors and the beer is then sold to Aramark due to liscensing. The food is good, especially the artichoke cheese dip in a bread bowl. The beer is pretty mediocre. Most are drinkable, but they are too thin and watery for their respective styles. I guess they are brewed for the sports market. Could be a great place if the beer was better. They are capable of making great beer, but they choose not to. This has always puzzled me about large brewing companies. I guess you can't argue when you have 90% of the market.
