Went here for the fried clams on Saturday Nov 7th, 2009. The fried clams were great. I don't know how they do it but they somehow make them the Ma. way. I plan on going back again and bring more friends. Service was great and quick. Fun.

If you are from the Northeast and are missing home then get your tail to Sonny"s and you will feel like you are back at the Fenway or the Garden.
The food is great, the beer is great and cold, and the service is great. A real touch of New England and its team and for non Red Sox fans visit Sonny"s and see what passion the fans of Red Sox nation have and you may become a convert
A greta fun place. If i lived here they would have a stool at the bar for me and call me NORM.

Just don't show up during a red sox or patriots game. The food is very underrated and they have an excellent beer selection. The steaks are cheap and very good, the burgers great, and fantastic fish and chips, chowder, lobster rolls, and fried clams. This bar does have the drunken boston a-hole contingent and ever since the red sox won the world series ever bandwagoner in los angeles county calls this place home. I never go when there is a boston game anymore, you can't get a seat and the service is horribly slow. I still love the place and it really does have great boston food.

Back in the day, when this was McGinty's, it was the type of place that served great beer with some amazing Indidan grub. It was the prototypical Santa Monica/Brit pub, and had a very local flavor. Now it is just another transplant joint, focusing on loud Chowders who can be as arrogant and annoying as New Yorkers. It retains some of its charm, and still has plenty of locals, but all these Boston Honks and geeks make it much less inviting and comfortable. I weep for McGinty's.

This bar is way better then Father's Office on Montana and not that far away.
They have a great selection of domestic and some unusual beers like Redhook on tap. This is an Irish based bar so if you like Guiness, Bass or Harps and are on the Westside this is the place for you. The owners must be Boston Based Irish because they love the Boston Red Sox's.
The Boneless Buffalo Wings had a bit to much vinegar for me. But it helped me drink more beer.
The Redhook was Flat, and the Bass wasn't pouring well tonight but tasted fine.
This bar has more room to watch a game then the Snake Pit on Melrose but has the same Personality with Awesome Bartenders and regular Joe Six Pack Customers. There were a few couples in tonight and a couple of drunks. But there are plenty of hide away spots to hang out at in this bar and there is a continus Pool Game going on in the back room.
Great Atomosphere should be voted best dive Bar on the westside fits it perfect. Not as much clutter on the walls as the Pitcher House in Hermosa Beach.

It's a kick-back low key place that I can spend hours in. The couch room is the most comfortable place I think I've ever been. The lobster Wed/Thurs/Fri. is incredible (and cheap!!!). It's where everyone is at midnight on a Fri/Sat.

Ask for Dr. Michigan's assistant. Not only does she put Lewinsky to shame, but she boils a mean potato. Just don't let it be yours.

This has been renamed The Red Setter. The interior is much nicer now. The beer selection consists of about a dozen taps and twice that in bottles. All are in good shape. Food is good, but is now standard pub fare rather than the fabulous Indian McGinty's used to have.
