Gene's Last Chance inside looks like a place where you'd find Biggie Smalls and Tupac reuiniting - think rappers.
10:15PM and no one want to seat you or recognize you are standing there.
Walking to that attempt to be seated there are two coolers for beer. Most of it is macro trash. There are notably at least 6 different varieties of beer in 40's. The 40's are the first thing you see entering this place.
I am going to pull this place from PubCrawler. No sense having it here. This place draws an intimidating very urban crowd along with junk beer and lousy don't care service. This certainly must be Gene's (very) Last Chance.

Generally unimpressive. Nothing bad or exceptional about the place. The same as any number of pittsburgh bars

Party of three. Before an 8PM concert at Mellon Area, we decided to stop in for dinner. Lots of tables open. No wait for seating. BUT, horrible, horrible service. We ordered our food aftre about 20 minutes waiting for the service. The waitress came through the dining room and took all the tables orders, about five other tables came in during our wait. It took 1 hour and 19 minutes for our food to arrive at our table; even after several complaints to the waitress that we had somewhere to go. Another table called for the manager who came over to their table and took them that they'll either have to wait, or he'll withdraw the order. They decided to withdraw the order and left. The food, when it arrived was not as good at a Friday's or Eat 'n Park. The ribs were obviously overly pre-cooked, and the fries we're cold. With so many places in the strip for food, PASS ON THIS ONE.

As below, a standard bar with mostly big domestics on tap, plus Guinness for a dark choice. Typical bar & grill food, but friendly bartenders.

More of a good place to eat rather than a multi-beer bar. The food is generally good to great but the draft beer is limited to the usual national brands and a few of the better local brands.

Many claim that Tessaro's has the best hamburger in Pittsburgh. My husband says that Tessaro's and Gene's Last Chance In The Strip are neck-and-neck in the "best hamburger" contest.
Check out this friendly watering hole and decide for yourself!

Nice atmosphere with a good selection of typical bar food (sandwiches & salads). The dining area is separated from bar with additional outside seating on the side deck.
If you are adventureous, try the SEVEN SERPENT WINGS. They do live up to the triple CAUTION warning. You'll need several refills of Penn Pilsner to wash them down.
